**** ******e at Umbria Jazz clinics,Perugia Italy I was chosen to attend the Umbria jazz clinics for a number of weeks where I studied Jazz theory and improvisation with professors Mark White and Jeff Stout. I also performed at the festival and did workshops with world famous musicians including Herbie Hancock and Chick Corea amongst others.

2012 University of West London, London.

ALCM Performance Diploma in Electric Guitar. I am currently studying for the LLCM exam to be completed July of this year.

2008&2009 Berklee College of Music Summer Programme, Dublin. I partook in two intensive week long improvisation courses, as a result of which I was offered a full time place to study at Berklee College of Music and was invited to Boston, on an Irish Arts Council funded mentorship programme with professors John McGann,Jim Kelly and Matt Glaser.

1988-1994 St. Clement's College, Limerick.

I undertook 8 higher level subjects for the Leaving Certificate State Examination including Music, Art and Spanish. I achieved a total of 400 points. WORK EXPERIENCE

Teaching Experience:

Position:Guitar Teacher

Position:Guitar teacher

November 2004- September 2012 Limerick School of Music, Limerick. Position: Guitar Teacher.

Duties: Prepare students for Electric and Acoustic guitar examinations with Associated Board, London College of Music RGT and Leaving/Junior Certificate State Examinations. I teach a wide range of styles including Jazz, Blues, Rock, Country, Pop and Irish Traditional music.

October 2011-Present Learning Hub, Limerick.

Position: Band Mentor.

Duties: Promote the development of young local musicians to bring them to a professional standard both live and in studio.

September 2009 - Present St. Mary's Secondary School, Limerick. Position: Guitar Teacher.

Duties: I teach students from the age of six to adulthood in all styles of music. September 2009-June 2011 Our Lady Queen of Peace, Primary School, Limerick. Position: Guitar Teacher.

Duties: Teaching beginners level guitar to classes of up to ten children. September 2009-June 2011 St. Munchin's College, Limerick. Position: Guitar Teacher.

Duties: Teaching transition year students beginners to advanced level acoustic and electric guitar.

Live/Studio Experience:

September 2012 – Present

Working as a freelance musician I currently play residencies at Jazz@pizzaexpress, Gaucho restaurant, H Hotel,Mcgettigan's bars, Barasti, Jumeirah Zabeel Saray on the palm. I also perform regularly for the Fridge,Sole, GrooveMaster, Bareface and Stamp agencies on various corporate events in everything from pop acts to jazz bands. 2009- September 2012 Groove Junction

Band leader, Musical Director and lead guitarist of this six piece jazz band with a residency in Bourke's Bar, Limerick where we regularly welcome musicians of the calibre of Peter Hanagan (Norah Jones, Louis Stewart), Carlos Hercules (George Michael, Eurythmics, Beverly Knight, Leona Lewis), André Antunes (Amy Winehouse, Republic of Loose) to our weekly sessions. We are regulars at various jazz and blues festivals nationwide.

2008-2010 Shed Recording Studios

I recorded, produced and arranged music for myself and various other acts during which time I oversaw the production of a charity single which reached number one in the Irish charts.

2004-Present Funk Junkies

Band leader, Musical Director and lead guitarist of this ten piece corporate and function entertainment act.

2003-2009 Escapade

Lead guitarist and backing vocalist of this four piece band. We performed extensively across Ireland and mainland Europe.

1995-Present Session Guitarist

I have performed professionally since leaving school with many different artists, covering many different genres. I have shared a stage with international acts such as Simple Minds, The Frames, Rodrigo y Gabriela and Snow Patrol to name but a few. During this time I have been a member of numerous pit orchestras providing the music for various theatrical shows alongside West End and Riverdance musicians. I have travelled the world with different groups to countries such as Egypt, USA, Jordan and Australia where I spent eighteen months performing with acts such as Pat McKernan, The One Hit Wonders and Slinky.

SKILLS/HOBBIES:

Computer Skills: Competent to a professional level in the use of music editing software such as Cubase, Logic, Pro Tools and many digital audio workstations. Also competent in Microsoft packages such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

Communication Skills: I have developed excellent communication skills through working with the public and colleagues. I am a confident public speaker and was a member of Toastmasters International. Leadership/Organization: I have organized many fundraising events for charities such as the Irish Red Cross Haiti Appeal where we succeeded in raising over €10,000 in 2010. Team Work: I work efficiently as part of a team, experienced in collaborating with band members and teaching colleagues.

Creative Skills: I enjoy writing my own music, particularly adding my musical ideas to other peoples compositions.
