Desk Engineer.

Site: Mettur Thermal Power Plant (1x600MW).

Ensure planning, scheduling, monitoring & timely execution of erection and commissioning of mechanical related work at site for C.H.P.

Coal handling plant in Power Plants including installations of wagon tipplers, stacker cum re-claimers, conveyor systems, rotary breakers, ring granulators.

Responsible for safe & efficient operation and maintenance of 1200 TPH and 1x600 MW(Sub-Critical Boiler) unit coal handling plant by quick decision making & appropriate actions as desk engineer, so as to provide more production as per demand keeping the desired parameters within limit and reduction in breakdown and bin empty Loss during plant emergency.

Responsible for smooth Start-up and breakdown of coal handling plant whenever required and for giving proper instructions & guidance to field operators.

Ensuring proper utilization of resources such as water, air (instrument air & service air), auxiliary power, coal and reducing their wastage.

To issue work permits to maintenance departments and coordinate with them for equipment isolation and take trial run of equipment’s after shutdown or maintenance work.

Identifying areas of improvement and recommending process modifications.

Furnishing details/MIS reports to the top management for strategic planning & decision-making.

PROJECT INFORMATION

Main Project:

Tensile and Impact Test on Woven E-Glass Fibre Composite Material. In this project we found out the Tensile strength and Impact strength of Woven E-glass epoxy fibre reinforced composite material following ASTM standards.

Third Year Project:

Line Follower Robot Using Microcontroller AT89C51 and I.R. Sensors. The Robot follows the black line drawn on the floor. This is used in transportation of goods from place to another reducing the need of human labor in industry.
