COX is 3rd largest cable entertainment and broadband services provider in US, offering residential and commercial video, voice and data services.

Cox is best known for the pioneering the bundle of Television, Internet and Telephone Services together, offering consumers the ability to consolidate their services with one provider. Cox currently serves over 6 million customers and has over 36,000 employees

Project Description:

The project is all about telecommunications. This is a Maintenance Project. The client has applications through which it creates accounts for the customers and manages the account of the users.

Two main groups under COX is:

1. Residential : Traditional Core Business (Voice, Video and Broadband)

2. Cox Business: Fastest growing area of business (Voice, Data, Video (TV), Bundles and Industries)

We get projects based on the changes which have to be upgraded in the application and functional changes. The project has to be tested end to end from new account creation up to the service provided across various applications.

Role & Responsibilities:

Sachin has been playing a role of team lead of the ALL DIGITAL-TDM team.

All digital was a new project which recently came into COX, Cox was upgrading its service provided to customers from analog to digital. And I was the sole responsible person to provide test data across all the other teams, Right from web servicing team to END to END testing.

The data which provided was used for all the test cases designed and also for device testing.

Client: The Hartford

The Hartford Insurance found in 1810 is one of the largest investment and insurance companies in the U.S and headquartered in Hartford, Connecticut. The Hartford is a leading provider of investment products – annuities, mutual funds, college savings plans – as well as life insurance, group and employee benefits, automobile and homeowners' insurance and business insurance. The Hartford has partnered with Cognizant Technology Solutions to participate in the Functional testing of Business and Personal Insurance Quality Assurance.

Project Description:

The project is all about automobile and homeowners insurance. This is a Maintenance Project. The client has applications through which it can issue the policies requested by the customers for their automobiles or Home. These applications differ, on the way of approach of the customers for a policy with Hartford. If the customer wants to create a quote online we have front end application and if the customer wants to contact an agent we have another application used by the agents and there are some applications for affinity partners. These all applications are linked to a major database from where the rating is done and depending on which the premiums of the policies are decided.

We get builds in which the changes are to be implemented in all applications. There are different types of builds such as Functional Specifications, Production Support, and Break Fix. Each build is taken care by a sole individual. This project follows Agile and Waterfall models.

Role & Responsibilities:

Sachin has been playing the role of the Team Member.

As a Team Member he has been involved in Analysis, detailed understanding of the User Requirement/ User interface/Business Requirement documentations, Preparing Impact Analysis document on the existing system based on the user requirement, Preparing detailed Test Scenarios and Test cases covering all the mappings using Quality Center & Test Data, Execution of test cases and defect tracking and Logging and Tracking defects to closure in Quality Center.

Project Description:

Agent Front End is the Web application which is used to issue Policies. Enhancement of Agent Front End to accommodate the introduction of the MIC Homeowner, Dwelling Fire and Umbrella products is included in Implementation III of the TronWeb project. As part of the quote/bind process, agents will have the ability to print the Point of Sale and Policy documents including the Declarations real time at Point of Sale from the Agent Front End.

Sachin was involved in Requirement Analysis, Test Design, Test Execution and Defect reporting test life cycles, Defect Triage calls, Functional testing, Preparation of System Test cases, Execution of System test cases, Daily and Weekly Status reporting.

Final Year Project description

Cartable Power Generation :

The project was on the principle of generating electrical energy using mechanical energy. The produced electrical energy is saved in a rechargeable battery and is used to charge portable devices.

Piezoelectric transducers were used to generate electric energy with the use of mechanical energy and PIC microcontroller was used to control the flow of electrical energy to the rechargeable battery.
