SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER
Key Accomplishment: Joined ACI as part of the team preparing to respond to the Ontario Ministry of Health’s request to create, implement and support an online drug claims adjudication system. Lead role in securing, designing, creating, implementing then supporting the Ontario Drug Benefit system, running on the HP-NSK platform for over 20 years. Accountable for the ACI product, ETDS, a SCOBOL / COBOL Client / Server, Pathway based Electronic Transaction Delivery System, incorporating both SQL and ENSCRIBE databases. ETDS was the first major product ACI Canada brought to the Canadian marketplace. It forms the transaction-delivery backbone for the Ontario Drug Benefit (ODB) program in Ontario, and the Régie de l'assurance maladie du Québec (RAM-Q) program in Québec.
Instrumental in maintaining and enhancing ETDS for the Ontario and Québec governments; maintained, tested, installed supported and performed a major rewrite of the application
Lead role, working with Green Shield Canada and Ontario Ministry of Health personnel, in detail design of the Client / Server data entry system, SQL databases and drug claims adjudication applications then incorporating them into the ETDS framework
Designed, created and implemented the NT Refresh system which uploads massive amounts of data from the HP-NSK mainframe to multiple NT servers
Designed, created and implemented the Drug Utilization Review module which flagged over 144,000 potentially dangerous drug interactions in its first 3 months of operation
Part of ACI Health Payments Division, following the acquisition of Hospital Health Plan Corporation (HHPC), a U.S. company providing health plan management software; evaluated, modified and expanded the HHPC system
Conducted system performance reviews of ACI’s BASE24 application running on the HP-NSK platform for many of the leading Canadian banks including Royal Bank of Canada, TD Canada Trust, Canadian Imperial Bank of Canada, HSBC Bank
Developed code modifications for other ACI applications including ASSET, IMN, BASE24, Golden Gate and Payment Manager
