Envelope Reliability Modeling Engineer – 2006 to 2014

•Provide envelope reliability modeling and site integration support to the Saudi Aramco - Dow Chemical joint venture, Sadara Company.

•Specialize in Discrete Event Simulation applied to chemical process manufacturing envelopes to drive continuous improvement of existing facilities and/or capital and operating expense cost avoidance for planned projects.

•Provide discrete event (Monte Carlo Simulation) modeling expertise for evaluating capability of existing assets to deliver product at needed rates or provide estimate of design rates for new assets to deliver specified production rate.

•Use of Titan software or alternate discrete event modeling tools to model existing or planned assets. Includes entering failure probability information, operating logic (via VBA) and running software.

•Data mining accomplished using a combination of personal interviews, asset utilization data and existing equipment reliability information to generate mean time between failure and time to repair data for use in software model.

•Facilitate Process Risk Assessments for new capital projects.

•Certified Six Sigma Black Belt – Employ Six Sigma Principles in daily work. Goal of discrete event modeling is to maximize envelope throughput and overall asset utilization using a variety of statistical tools.

•Reactive Relief Device Design Engineer – Analyze and specify pressure relief devices for reactive and nonreactive unplanned process upset events.

Manufacturing & Engineering Specialist - 2002 to 2006

•Frequently serve as acting site leader for 24 non-exempt employees and monitor daily operations activities to ensure empowered work teams are staffed and productive and customer needs are met. Provide guidance and coaching to help associates understand policies and align themselves with company vision and goals.

•Six Sigma Black Belt and project manager of reactor cycle time reduction project which achieved $450M in Pre-Realization savings. Process Engineer - 2000 to 2002

•Investigated and resolved issues with UNIX-based Siemens APACS+ distributed control system used in automation of semi-batch reactor lines and bulk raw material unloading facility.

•Developed process design information packages for capital projects which ranged from significant modifications of existing units to construction of new facilities.

•Design experience includes cooling water and compressed air systems, new and relocated latex production units, upgrade and automation of existing reactor lines, site-wide pressure relief device upgrades to ensure Process Safety Management standard compliance, and automated bulk raw material unloading, storage, and transfer facilities.

•Union Carbide Corporation-qualified Pressure Relief Device Engineer.

•Drafting experience with a variety of CAD packages: Microstation, Visual CADD, and Generic CADD.

•Performed economic evaluation and feasibility study of continuous latex production unit for high volume vinyl acrylic production.
