Successfully designed and validated $1m complex heavy machinery and support structures for Northrop Grumman and Lockheed Martin by efficient CAD, FEA and classical analytical techniques.

Product validation implemented via static complex 3D stress analysis of all welded and fastened structures, trusses, frames, joints, components and machines using FEA (ANSYS) and classical hand calculations based on efficient FAA approved aerospace analytical techniques and American Institute of Steel Construction codes. All validations were approved by customers generating improved business relations and increased sales. This expanded the product line offered by Flotron as well as improved the quality of existing Flotron products.

Invented analytical tools successfully utilized for the expeditious classical static substantiation of the existing, modified and custom new Flotron products and their FEA models.

Conducted efficient CAD modeling (Inventor and Solidworks) for all prototypes and components, subassemblies and fully integrated electro mechanical structures. Included comprehensive generation of detailed production drawings from top assembly thru sub-assembly and detailed parts for manufacturing drawings to ASME Y14.1 and per ISO 9001 QMS.

Implemented efficient systems engineering techniques for risk management by failure analysis investigations (FTA and FMEA) for all designed products ensuring durable, rugged and reliable products from the design phase through installation and use at the customer facility.

Generated professional proposals, engineering cost estimates, RFP’s, compliance matrices, stress reports, user manuals, IC docs for all milestones and products using commercial software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, Access, Photoshop, Mathcad, Fortran, Solidworks, Alibre Design, Inventor, ANSYS

Corresponded effectively with clients and vendors during all product development and implementation phases.

Provided continuous education to the Flotron engineering group for more efficient and accurate CAD and validation techniques for all Flotron products. Wagner Aeronautical Inc., Escondido, San Diego, CA 10/2008 – 11/2011 Aerospace Fluid Systems and Stress Engineer/Manager

Successfully designed and validated a 4000gal slurry tank retrofitted into a MD87 as a Fire Tanker currently in operation in multiple aircraft as fire fighters.

Developed the design loads based on fluid statics and fluid dynamics under stationary and accelerating aircraft conditions required to validate the slurry tank.

Successfully designed and validated aircraft internal monuments and aircraft primary and secondary structures as well as subassemblies and parts to ensure compliance with FAA regulations for the successful granting of Supplemental Type Certification. Laurence Mark Lange 2

Validation included CAD (Solidworks) and complex 3D stress analysis of simultaneous 3D inertial, aerodynamic and pressurization loading by classical hand calculations for static substantiation of aircraft structures and components ranging from PSE’s, beams, stringers, intercostal, multi-fastener joints, skin, hull penetration reinforcement to monuments, parts, devices and electrical components.

Static substantiation of parts and assemblies for multiple complex simultaneous loads against material

(metallic and composite) for inhomogeneous and an-isotropic FAA approved and unapproved allowables, per FAR Part codes and guidelines.

Successfully developed a heat transfer cooling solution for a tactical laser weapon system mounted on a CH53 helicopter gunship for use in hostile desert environments.

Developed software for simulation of Rapid Decompression Events for various cabin compartment configurations and aircraft flight conditions using FORTRAN.

Conducted FE model validation by whiffle tree test facility design, construction, data acquisition and analysis.

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, San Diego, CA 12/2006 - 04/2007 Research Engineer & Program Manager (Contract Position)

Managed and conducted a comprehensive failure analysis program of flight critical aircraft components that failed unexpectedly.

Implemented FMEA and FTA resulting in improved quality control, part reliability and cost savings.
