Position: Behavioral Health Nurse

Gave TB injections and read them for staff members annually as well as for clients enrolled in the Drug/Alcohol Service Program

Case management for Dual Diagnosis clients who not only had mental illness but a medical problem and addiction issues to either drugs or alcohol.

Lead a Women’s Dual Diagnosis group & Wellness Group on a weekly basis

Gave injections weekly of Risperdal Consta, Invega Sustenna, Prolixin and Haldol Decanoate

Assisted patients with obtaining Medi-Cal Benefits, SSI Benefits, housing either temporarily or permanent and finding them a medical doctor if they did not have one as well as getting them enrolled in Drug/Alcohol services if needed.

Was the only Mental Health nurse assigned to clinic and covered other clinics when nurse was absent. There was another nurse in clinic assigned to another program but she rarely covered for me.

Assisted psychiatrists for Children and Youth Services with their injections as well.

Assisted in facilitating the NAMI Group which is National Alliance Mentally Ill. Family members came in and voiced their issues and frustrations while getting support by other families and facilitator.

Responsible for reviewing all labs and notifying both the psychiatrist and medical doctor at least twice a week.

Received and signed for all medications and received and logged in all sample medications.
