I am a very experienced teacher at secondary level having successfully taught IGCSE and Western Australian curriculum English to years 7-11; Media Studies to years 8-12; ESL to students ranging from primary school to adults; and also have overseas teaching experience in these and other subjects. I am looking to make use of my skills and experience where they can be of benefit to students and to be part of a dynamic teaching environment.

Professional Work Experience:

April 2014-July 2015. Relief teacher at Willetton and Kent st SHS [Western Australia]. I have been doing relief in a number of subjects but especially English; English as an additional Language/Dialect [EALD]; and Media Studies at both schools. I also wrote a WACE unit for students from Nanjing, China to complete as part of their EAL/D course.

2012-2013 English and Global Perspectives teacher at Yew Chung International School [secondary] to KS3 students in years 7, 8, 9 and IGCSE 10. Also taught interview skills to grade 6 students for one month at a primary school in Hong Kong.

2007-2009, 2010-2011 Taught English for Academic Purposes and Business English at Shanghai Ocean University to first and second year students in an English immersion course. Conducted academic and oral testing of Chinese students for potential immigration and study in Australia for AEAS an Australian evaluation agency.

2009-2010--Taught oral English to English-major students at Shanghai Institute of Technology. Also academic writing at UKEAS a private language school--to students wanting to sit the IELTS test and do further study overseas.

Relief teacher at Yew Chung International School, Gubei campus.

2007 Taught Media Studies at Willetton Senior High School to students in years 8-11. Also responsible for budget oversight and running this department with two part-time staff as part of the Arts faculty.

2006 On leave. Completed Graduate Certificate in TESOL.

July taught English to primary students and teachers at 3-week summer school in Zhejiang province, People s Republic of China.

2002--2005 Recommenced teaching Media Studies at Willetton SHS to students in Year 8 11. Organised training programs and undertook responsibility for running student-based school radio station.

Taught four intermediate to-advanced middle school classes over two weeks at summer school in Xinjiang, NW China (July 2003): and again in Zhejiang in July, 2004.

2001 Teaching in Ningbo, People s Republic of China

Taught English As A Second Language to grade 3, 4 and 5 students at Ningbo Wanli International Primary School; taught ESL in a four-week Summer School for middle-school students; taught beginning and more-advanced adults at a night school; and conducted regular twice-weekly training in English to Chinese national staff of Kuehne and Nagel a German freight-forwarding company--over a 6-month period.

1996-2000 Media Studies and English teacher at Willetton Senior High School.

Responsibilities included teaching in year 8 to 12; Editing the School Magazine in two years; running the school radio station and training students in its use; and managing the department budget and equipment.

1988-1995 English and Media Studies teacher at Cyril Jackson SHS. I set up and organised a school-based Radio station and produced a number of school yearbooks.

1981 1986 Media Studies teacher at Forrestfield SHS inaugurated school magazine; initiated students going on-air weekly at Curtin University radio station; ran media camps; and was year 12 co-ordinator in 1983.
