Project description: The project was to develop a new embedded Linux based MFP controller software for a Japanese printing major.

My Role:

Tested the MFP for all of its basic user functionality: print, copy, scan and fax.

Tested the web interface system (remote web access) for both administrator and user.

Automated web testing using QTP.

Tested print/copy functionalities: n-up, booklet, multiple copies, finishing (stapling & hole punching)

Defect tracking using JIRA.

Tested device discovery and network printing using different protocols (TCP/IP, USB, SNMP, Samba Client, LPRNG, AppleTalk, Novell Printing)

Project: Printer driver for Windows platforms (July 2005- Nov 2006)

Project description: The project was to develop windows platform printer drivers for a Japanese printing major. Two gray-scale drivers (PCL 5e, PCL 6) were developed for Win 2K/XP/2K3 platforms.

My Role:

Tested the printer driver for both its core rendering functionality and its GUI for functional and usability testing.

Used Quality Logic ATS (Application Test Suites) to test the core functionality by mimicking print function of various popular desktop software (Adobe, Corel, Microsoft, Macromedia, Quark etc.) applications.

Automated the printer driver UI testing using WinRunner.

Performed WHQL certification testing and successfully obtained WHQL certification.

Analyzed the requirement specification, prepared test plan and wrote test cases.

Reported bugs found in ClearQuest, assigned bugs to engineers based on the bug type (Text, Image, Vector, GUI)

Also performed Integration and Regression Testing, Installation/un-installation Testing.
