Auditing department- My daily activity’s included, verifying that all new patients and the physicians had both signed all appropriate paper work in order to initiate the billing process.
Cash department- My daily activities included, receiving checks from self pay patients, and from insurance companies, then post those checks to the correct patient accounts with the proper co-pay, co-insurance, and deductible. Also on a monthly basis we were required to balance our cash with our corporate offices numbers.
Collections department- Daily activities are to ensure timely receipt of claim payments and minimization of bad debt. I have to check and work all work lists and agings, dispute unpaid claims, work with each insurance company to find and resolve issues, research and inform insurance companies with any and all overpayments or short paid claims. I check status of all claims via (online portals, phone calls, or paper mail). Transfer and write off amounts to and from primary, secondary, and guarantor. I also update each patient account with specific notes to ensure no information becomes lost.
Acute Department- My daily activities in the Acute Department include, the creation of invoices on a month basis. Once the invoices are created I personally send all 250 invoices out to the correct destination. I then verify that they were all received along with correcting any issues that maybe become present on those invoices. Once all invoices are sent out I am also responsible to call and collect all the outstanding invoices, along with posting the cash that is received daily. Also once a month we have a balancing process that is required to match all of corporates month end balancing numbers.
