Composite Technician

Reads, interprets and works to engineering sketches, standard task procedures, work orders, work order instructions, supplementary instructions, manufacturer’s and customer’s specifications, Material Safety Data Sheets, safety rules. Must be able to understand and follow verbal instructions.

Prepares tools for lay-up, cleaning, frekote, damage inspection, area separation and assembling tool components.

Hand cuts patterns and plies from prepreg, adhesives, cores, honeycomb and other materials used in lay-up.

Handles lay-up materials, including removing material from boxes, cutting materials and repackaging and storing at requisite temperatures and completes out time calculations, expiration dates, traceability information and all other paperwork associated with it.

Lays-up resin impregnated dry or wet material, cores and honeycomb or other requisite materials for basic to medium complexity parts and configuration, onto tools, molds, patterns or cores. Should be familiar with orientation, and use approved lay-up techniques as per provided training, industry standards and work instructions.

Trims, forms, shapes and debulks requisite materials used on the component.

Bags laminates using both film and reusable bags, sample boards for cure, attaches vacuum ports, thermocouples, and performs leak tests and all necessary operations in preparation for curing.

Surface prep parts for bonding, verifilm etc., and perform bond and verifilm operation on parts including cores.

De-tooling of cured parts and subsequent clean-up of tools and identification of parts.

Examines parts for failure to conform to company or customer specifications.

Records and maintains records such as production manufacturing instructions and work order instructions, safety, environmental and schedule.

Package parts if required.

Assist the Gerber Operator in kitting of patterns cut on the Gerber.

Assist in the setup and de-tooling of the Hot Drape former.

Performs minor repairs and maintenance on tools and equipment.

Operates hoists, and forklifts.

Composite Material Fabricator

Collect and bring materials required materials and adapt despite resins product requirements, prioritize quality adjustments, help monitor and make necessary adjustments so that the quality meets the requirements of the product.

Production put in gathering the information system of the run.

Make the process of the epoxy glue and phenolic, stirring exact amounts of ingredients required.

Material Handler

Support all areas of the plant and is responsible for material accuracy by recording movement of all materials. Is responsible for entering and tracking daily issues and transfers to computer and perform daily cycle counts. Will also load and unload containers of incoming material from trailers. Packaging and material shearing operations for backup support. Assisting in other areas of the plant.

Lay Up Operator

Prepares panel and liner construction per lay-up GPS guidelines, assists with loading and unloading of presses, ensures that all materials used are correct for each work order, are free from quality defects and within shelf life requirements. Prepare and stage all left over materials to be returned back to warehouse. Collects, calculates and records data necessary for proper quality and inventory maintenance. Makes sure housekeeping is being maintained and all containers are properly labeled.

Fabrication Assembler

Finishing detailed panel assembly and liners. Uses specifications, blue prints, mylar and work orders. Deburrs and cleans insert drill holes prior to insert installation. Applies adhesive to plugs/sleeves and panel prior to plug/sleeve installation. Prepares panel assemblies for edge fill operation. Mixes and applies edge-fill to the undercut of the panels. Hand routes with pneumatic hand router all detailed liners using the specified tool required.
