Phone no. :313-***-**** Email:acqzc1@r.postjobfree.com

OBJECTIVE:

Looking forward to conceptually enhance the understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals and to gain industrial experience as a Mechanical Engineer.

EDUCATION:

Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering May 2016 Wayne State University, Detroit, MI GPA: 3.16

Bachelor of Science Mechanical Engineering April 2014 Anna University, Chennai, India GPA: 3.0

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Lab Assistant: Aug-Dec 2010

Provided user support (technical and otherwise)

Provided basic IT equipment support (for printers, computer terminals, etc.)

Supervised the engineering labs on a daily basis and organized classes.

Reported the inventory and made lists for the authority of the labs. ACADEMIC PROJECTS:

AUTOMATIC STAIRCASE CLIMBING WHEELCHAIR: April 2014

The main objective of this project was to design and fabricate a prototype for a disabled-friendly and a cheap wheelchair. Auto CAD software was used to design the 3D model for the wheelchair.

Lithium-ion battery pack stacked in an 18P8S formation which generated 12Vand 5A of voltage and current respectively was used for powering it.

Two DC motors provided the required motion in accordance with the different modes of the wheelchair. In order to increase torque output, speed reduction was performed using a 1:40 Bon-Figlioli gearbox. OPTIMIZATION OF SPARK AND INTAKE VALVE TIMINGS IN IC ENGINES: December 2014

Identifying the best spark and intake valve timings and comparison of efficiencies at different speeds in a single cylinder engine and multi cylinder engine was the main aim of this project.

The combustion processes taking place in an IC engine were simulated using GT-POWER software. The amount of heat losses from the processes were also studied.

It was inferred that the IMEP had a direct effect on the overall efficiency of the engine. Both advancing and delaying spark timing would cause reduction in engine efficiency. Any delay in IVO would cause reduction in both volumetric and overall efficiency.

TRIM DIE ANGLE EFFECT ON CUTTING EDGE STRESSES: May 2015

The effect of the trim angle of the dies on the cutting edge stresses was extensively studied through the course of this project using Hypermesh and Abaqus.

The 2D model of a trim cutting operation was generated using Hypermesh. 2D plain strain first order elements were used to study the stress distribution at the cutting edges.

After performing 2D FEA in Abaqus it became apparent that the stresses on the upper and lower dies increased significantly as the trimming angle decreased. The trimming angle did have an effect on the fatigue life of the cutting dies.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Programming Software: C, C++.

Modelling and analysis software: Auto CAD, Pro-Engineer, ANSYS, GT-POWER, Hypermesh, Abaqus, Chemkin.

Coursework: Combustion engines and emissions, Heat and Mass Transfer, Thermal Engineering, Kinematics and dynamics of machinery, Engineering graphics and mechanics, Material science. AWARDS AND ACHIEVEMENTS:

Completed 10 levels Universal Concept of Mental Arithmetic System with proficiency in all levels.

Acquired the 2nd prize for a project presentation at the national level technical symposium held in the Madras Institute of Technology.
