A proven operations leader and MBA graduate, I rapidly advanced in management to oversee multi-billion dollar international logistics for a 24/7/365 transportation giant. Applying superior technical know-how, I implemented innovative cost reduction plans that optimized efficiencies, workflow and increased capacity.

Known to perform eloquently under pressure, I have an impressive record of making timely quality decision. I can contribute to your organization by:

Achieving significant cost savings through efficient project management & resource allocation

Getting peak output / productivity from resources (human, materials, equipment, etc.)

Regularly exceeding project goals, completing early and under budget

Preventing operational interruptions and protecting company property

Earned an MBA from the University of Maryland and a BA in Business Management from Bethany College, I acquired extensive Field Management training while with Union Pacific (UP). My studies have included process improvement courses and exposure to Six Sigma methodologies.

SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Identified and removed bottleneck. A specific train was causing a bottleneck at the UP Green River Yard. Identified glitch in scheduling at the origination site. Worked in partnership to adjust departure times. Drove efficiency by altering the terminal work plan and reduced the amount of time the train was at terminal by 1.5 hours. Improved velocity .2MPH.

Increased productivity and volume. The UP Green River yard ranked at the bottom for efficiency. Formed and led cross-functional team. Developed guidelines and metrics to improve and measure work flow. Increased onsite efficiency within one month, allowing for a greater volume of cargo to move through yard. Improved ranking to the top three.

Engaged employees, improving safety. Kansas City Southern was experiencing an increase in the severity and number of accidents that were occurring. Improved daily safety meeting involvement and launched incentive program, rewarding staff for a decrease in safety violations. Achieved zero violations over the past three months.

Appointed to lead major project during company transition. The UP terminal manager was promoted during the opening of a new $24M rail yard. Asked to step up and lead project. Partnered with executives to achieve project thresholds. Overcame major technical glitch to complete the opening on time and to budget.

Applied Six Sigma methodology to improve productivity. Kansas City Southern Railway had been using two crews to a train from point A to point B. Applied Six Sigma tactics, creating strategy to eliminate waste time for the crews and run the train during nonpeak hours. Reduced the number of days the train used two crews by 75%, saving $400K annually.

Trained staff on cutting edge logistics software. The engineers at Union Pacific were having challenges with the functionality of the locomotives. Identified and resolved mechanical issues.
