Managing multimillion dollar production facility with an average headcount of approximately 75 – 85 associates. Budgetary and P&L responsible. Developing management and hourly production team to a level of meets high expectations, by mentoring, coaching, developing and leading by example, holding associates accountable, and setting goals and priorities. Training and mentoring plant supervisor to be management capable. Implementing Lean processes and procedures to reduce cost, waste, materials movement, and increase productivity. Driving Safety and Quality culture. Ensure the facility operates in an Ethical manner and a good Steward to the local community and environment.

As Area Plant Manager I was responsible for all facets of my home facility to include duties outlined in my current position, in addition to overseeing two other facilities located in Ladysmith, VA, and Star, NC. My additional responsibilities included but not limited to, coaching and mentoring the plant managers, ensuring their facility was operated in a safe, efficient manner, and of high quality. Trained the plant managers in P&L and other financial reporting, budgeting, and dissection. Also coached and trained in industry specific processes and procedures. Ensured facilities were in compliance with all local and State requirements.

Started with entry level production position and worked my way through the facility until I was promoted to Supervisor, Assistant Manager at the Cullman, AL facility. Was promoted and relocated to Plant Manager in 1987 to Adel, GA which began my career as plant manager.

LEADERSHIP

Served as Youth Director at Flovilla Baptist Church (FBC) for ~ten years leading a group of twelve youth, ages ranging from twelve to eighteen. Resigned this position in 2014 to pursue my Master’s degree.

I served as Church Treasurer for FBC for approximately eight years from 2004 to 2012.

My previous facility (Scotts Miracle-Gro, Jackson, GA) was awarded 2011 Scotts Plant of The Year. Also was awarded Scotts 100% Club six times under my management.

Same was awarded 2012 Business of The Year by the Butts County Chamber of Commerce.

Same was also nominated for the 2013 Georgia Manufacturer of The Year Award by The Butts County Office of Business Development.
