Led 25 personnel in the planning and execution of an arms embargo and no-fly zone missions employing more than 20 ships and thousands of U.S. and international personnel. Provided recommendations and fielded briefings that assisted the Italian 3 Star Admiral in daily operations briefings that increased team cohesion and objectives.

Naval Forces Europe/Africa, C6F 2008 –2010

Engagement Team Leader

Lead planner for Africa Partnership Station, West that led 12 Officers in the development, resourcing, and operational support for engagement activities to improve maritime safety and security in 14 African Nations.

Led analysis and assessment procedures that developed country action plans that served as return on investment indicators and informed resourcing decisions.

Key Achievement: Developed an exercise and proof of concept for an annual maritime security exercise in the Gulf of Guinea.

USS BATAAN (LHD 5) 2006 –2008

Operations Officer

Supervised and managed 130 personnel in the planning and execution of amphibious, intelligence, and cryptologic operations. Planned and executed numerous amphibious and maritime operations involving thousands of Sailors and Marines including short notice missions to support the U.S. President and Vice President. Conducted training and scheduling of damage control and security teams in a 24/7 rotation for a crew of more than a thousand personnel. Planned Maintenance Availability (DPMA) Project Manager

Key Achievement: Managed a complex maintenance availability of alterations totaling more than $70 Million of contracted work that completed on time, on budget and on quality.

Assault Craft Unit TWO (ACU 2) 2004 –2006

Executive Officer

Managed a 30,000 square foot command/maintenance facility, piers and waterfront. Developed and implemented a continuous maintenance plan for 23 landing craft valued over $20 Million. Led 11 Officers and 300 active duty personnel. Responsible for the operation, maintenance of 23 landing craft. Responsible for the training of 300 active duty Sailors and an additional 300 reservists.

US Naval Academy 2002 –2004

Instructor

Nominated for the William P. Clements Award for recognition as the outstanding military instructor of the year. Taught more than 200 students the principles of ship stability. Executive Assistant, Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering Department. Managed academic schedule and resources for all courses and faculty research.

USS SHILOH (CG 67) 1999 –2002

Combat Systems Officer

Project lead for the first successful at-sea firing of the SM-3 missile, a significant achievement in the Navy theater Ballistic Missile Defense program. Managed 120 personnel in the operation and maintenance of the AEGIS combat system. Integrated Training Team Coordinator and Combat System Training Team Leader, ensured successful completion of cruise missile tactical qualifications and final evaluation problem.

AEGIS CSEDS, Moorestown, NJ 1996 –1998

Assistant Officer-In-Charge

Responsible for the day-to-day operation, administration and security of the AEGIS Combat Systems Engineering Development Site, a Navy owned, contractor supported facility for research, development, integration, and testing of the Aegis Weapon and Combat Systems, Cruiser and Destroyer Modernization, Open Architecture development and baseline improvements for the AN/SPY-1 radar. Led coordination between military, civil service, and contractor personnel.

USS LEYTE GULF (CG 55) 1994 – 1996

Fire Control Officer

Led 30 personnel in the operation and maintenance of the Aegis Weapon System. Developed a surface-to-air missile exercise for Theodore Roosevelt Battle Group composite training exercise.

USS LONG BEACH (CGN-9) 1991 – 1994

Navigator

Conducted dozens of safe navigation details including 5 transits of the Panama Canal and numerous foreign ports. Responsible for the safe navigation of a 16,000 ton nuclear-powered guided missile cruiser.
