Southwest Systems Deployment Specialist, DE-0301-03 (This is a federal job)

I was assigned to the Program Executive Office, Enterprise Information Systems (PEO-EIS), Product Director, Automated Movement and Identification Solutions (PD-AMIS), 200 Stovall Street Alexandria, Virginia 22332-2700. I was the Lead, System Integration Manager (SIM) for PD-AMIS for 11 other System Integration Manager (1 government and 10 contractors). I also performed duties as the Asset Manager and Warehouse Manager. As the Asset Manager, I was responsible for an inventory of over $20 million of equipment in-house and at the PD AMIS Regional Offices located at Ft Lee, VA, Ft Hood, TX and Ft Lewis, WA. I exercised the ability to interpret, select, adapt and apply many guidelines, precedents, principles and practices which relate to an area of technical specialization such as engineering/electronic technician, telecommunications, quality assurance, information technology, technical writing and editing, equipment management, etc. I provided acquisition and logistics management expertise to assist with the implementation of a new software application to support Army logistics users. I served as an organizational representative on teams or committees outside the organization developing new policies, approaches or techniques. As the SIM I handled all Tier 2 and 3 issues that were received from PD-AMIS Helpdesk using Remedy Trouble Ticketing System. I interacted independently and proactively with customers to identify and define complex/difficult problems and to develop and implement strategies. I applied an in-depth knowledge of the practical methods and techniques and substantial experience in developing results, recommendations and conclusions that may have a broad impact on the Research & Development internal and external programs, resources, and the organization. My duties involved imaging/programming/configuration of computer systems, computational/file servers, scientific virtualization workstations, video production systems, mass storage archive servers and support computer systems including hardware, operating systems, associated supporting software and utilities, file systems, user authentication, verification and access control mechanisms, systems capability and capacity measurement and tuning, data basing, and/or system monitoring and assessment. I provided assistance in databases, operating systems, compilers, and third-party software. This included troubleshooting techniques, help in discovering software capabilities; providing assistance to users in developing new custom application software and improving coding techniques; identifying and producing general documentation, and monitoring contractor support. I was responsible for all equipment that was shipped out to the customer (US Army). I ensured that all equipment was configured properly before being shipped; this required testing laptops, servers and automated identification technology (AIT) equipment. I served as the Property Book Officer for PD-AMIS, I was responsible for over $50 million of equipment that was issued. I coordinate directly with or through Regional Teams for the integration of supply, maintenance, new equipment training, fielding, item introduction provisioning and other related logistical functions for assigned Transportation Systems during all phases of the life cycle for the US Army and Agencies.
