Cardinal Health is a Distribution company for various range of Medical Products and Services, Cardinal Health – Pharmaceutical Distribution (PD) which employs Informatica as the ETL tool for all ETL and scheduling related activities with Teradata as the RDBMS for Teradata Warehouse, Data Marts and DDS. All Reports coming out of Teradata are generated using Microstrategy. The data warehouse is a data store containing the analytical data required for the majority of analytical inquiry and applications.

The existing Cardinal Distribution data warehouse is a collection of data marts, or star schemas conformed to a discrete list of dimension with snow flake off shoots. The design was created specifically to ease the use of and increase performance for analytical inquiry. There are 13 different data marts which reside in the Teradata warehouse.

The ETL conversion project primary responsibility to convert 6000 informatica ETL jobs into Data Stage jobs within given time lines, this project is time bound project since Cardinal health has to pay for informatica license renewal.
