As a member of UHG United Health Care Military and Veterans, current role is a Pega Lead Business Architect. Job functions include leading DCO sessions for capturing requirement in the form of use cases, PRPC flows and business rules, leading a team of Pega BAs on complex projects, establishing and implementing SmartBPM methodology best practices for the team, and acting as the overall requirements lead for the team.

As a member of UHG Optum’s Business Process Management (BPM) Center of Excellence (CoE), responsibilities included working with various internal and external customers to determine best fit for and enablement on Pegasystem’s BPM technology solutions. This included analyzing and documenting business needs/requirements, helping to coordinate and prepare demos and establishing best practices for development methodology.

This position entailed working closely with a variety of internal Kaiser business teams to help develop software solutions at a national and regional level, from the conception of the solution through the logical solution design which can be turned over to I.T. development. This included conducting sessions to understand and document the current business processes, conducting joint application session with business teams and I.T. development to gather requirements, documenting use cases and creating a logical solution design. It also included performing additional internal consulting tasks as necessary to help devise a best fit systems solution. The Ouellette requirements process was used extensively, as well as other general systems development processes that involve UML modeling, including the creation of sequence diagrams, activity diagrams, use cases, entity relationship diagrams and object modeling.

Position consisted of 3 primary roles, including director of applications architecture, applications development director and primary technical sales support. As applications architecture director, responsibilities included providing overall direction on applications architecture to MEDecision, working closely with product marketing and client services staff to architect business solutions, evaluating and recommending software for application development and business needs and establishing and managing vendor relationships to extend product offerings . Presented recommendations routinely to senior management. Also managed a core team of four applications architects and provided technical direction to them on a regular basis, including hands on development work as necessary. Led an effort to re-design the existing products into a service oriented architecture (SOA), using J2EE patterns and the Blaze Advisor rules engine from Fair Isaac.
