Education

• University of Massachusetts Lowell, MA.

Bachelor of Science in Plastics Engineering. May 2015 Fall 2014 Dean’s List. GPA: 3.3

President, Society of Plastics Engineers UMass Lowell Student Chapter. 2013-2014 Work Experience

Process Engineer Intern, Albéa Group, Thomaston, CT Summer 2014

• Gained experience and familiarity on different injection molding machines (Nissei, Engel, Arburg, Battlefield) and mold tooling design/operation.

• Developed and documented process through DOE, SPC, eDART, scientific molding and gate seal studies.

• Troubleshoot injection molding machines and its auxiliaries.

• Support the QA, tool engineers, design engineers and senior process engineers when needed.

• Performed inspection (visual, dimensional and functional analysis) on parts for defects. Process Engineer Intern, ABnote North America, Boston, MA Summer 2013

• Project based internship. Developed a next generation plastic card that has a polyimide circuit and flexible display embedded inside.

• Goal of the project was to experiment different plastic sheets (PVC, PET) with different card manufacturing technology (heat/cold lamination, compression) to produce this card at the most efficient way.

• Performed quality tests on the card which includes abrasion, peel, tensile, flexure respect to ISO standards. Skills

• Processing: Theoretical and practical experience on injection molding, blow molding, thermoforming, extrusion (single screw, twin screw, film, tube/pipe) and rotational molding machines.

• Software: SolidWorks, Mold flow Simulation, Mastercam, Minitab, Microsoft Office.

• Testing & Analysis: Tensile (instron), flexure, impact, melt flow rate, capillary rheometer, DSC, TGA.

• Polymer Material: Understand the chemistry, structure, mechanical properties, processing parameters, synthesis and end use application of different polymers. Project

• Worked in a team to develop a wire wrapping outlet cover.

• First, designed the part by using SolidWorks and ran simulation through Moldflow.

• Made a 5x6 inch mold by using CNC machine programed by Mastercam.

• Finally used a 200 ton injection molding machine (Arburg) to produce the part with polycarbonate. Please visit my LinkedIn profile for details.
