TROY HEDMAN

MECHANICAL ENGI NEER

281-***-**** – acqos1@r.postjobfree.com – https://www.linkedin.com/in/troyhedman To whom it may concern,

I came across this listing looking for a mechanical engineer and it struck me that it would be a very good fit for me. I wouldn’t consider myself entry level, but I believe I have experience that would fit very well with what you do. My primary job descriptions have involved product development and project based design engineering, but I was involved in a large IT project at my previous job.

After working as a mechanical design engineer on customer projects for about a year, I was given a chance to represent the engineering department in a company-wide project to reimagine business processes and then design a business system to support those needs. I worked on a large multi-disciplinary team to define every major step of order completion from managing the customer relationship, to communicating customer requirements and creating a design to meet them, all the way through shipment of the project. From that point I created business requirement documents for each portion of the process and worked directly with inside and outside developers and consultants to meet our needs. After coordinating user testing and training, we had a completely new system that managed the information flow of approximately 200 engineering content creators and effectively transferred the required information to downstream consumers. Through this process I gained valuable experience about visualizing business processes and designing programs to aid in the collection and delivery of this information.

Once that project was completed, I moved into a role as a research and development engineer where I created designs for parts and assemblies with a focus on design for manufacture and assembly. I also helped write and maintain product guides and procedures for effective change management. I hope you will consider me for the position. I truly believe that I would be a great fit. Sincerely,

Troy Hedman
