Project Details

Topic: GSM based motor control using smart solar tracking system

In brief about the project:

The main aim of the project is to utilize the abundantly available solar energy and improve the existing solar tracking system to provide higher efficiency.

The project operates a solar panel to constantly face the sun at 90 degrees to produce maximum voltage.

It will move the solar panel from east to west to correct for the durational movement of the sun in the sky.

The set of light sensors give input to the microcontroller and it operates stepper motors with gear mechanism.

This project consists of three light sensors and all the sensors are connected to an embedded chip. It will receive the solar energy from three sensors and finds out which sensor has received more energy.

Depending on that it will move the solar panel through the stepper motor.

Applications of this project

This project is used in individual power supplies such as caravans, boats and mobile homes

It is used in agriculture to control the motor operations without any manual help or intervention.
