The goal of REL MIS IT in the Project Chorus initiative is to support business reporting needs by providing data through IT controlled systemic data sourcing and automated report generation. To understand and control risk, the Board of Directors and Senior Management are tracking risk areas captured in the Operational Risk Reporting which includes Level 1 and Level 2 dashboard reports, respectively, which are the focus of this project. These dashboard reports currently consist of breakpoints, which provide the framework for the Level 1 and 2 MIS output, and supporting baseline metrics (Operations/QC/QA), which form the foundation for performance measurement at each breakpoint that is being tracked. Metrics cover the areas of Payment Servicing, Collections, Loss Mitigation, Foreclosure, Bankruptcy, REO, Third Party, Customer Experience, and Staffing and Reporting.

The Waterfall report is used to identify potential charge-off accounts and classify into different risk profiles, depending on the status of the account. The waterfall model, uses a top-down approach, wherein each account is subjected to a series of logic checks, and profiled depending on the top-most satisfying criteria. The business will use the report to identify the distribution of accounts in different category, and devise action to mitigate the potential loss.
