Project Description

Linux System Administrator, Planet Payment, NY USA November, 2014– Present

Type-1 (BARE METAL) installation of ESXi and installation of RHEL 5x, RHEL 6x, OEL5x, OEL6x, CentOS, Windows as guest OS. Create ISO images, used kickstart installation, installation from NFS, PXEboot installation methods for installing guest OS. Install Local Yum repository and make it available to yum clients for installation of RPMs and avoid rpm dependency related issues. Install Puppet master and puppet agent and work with puppet manifest to centrally manage files, users, rpms on Linux servers in data center.

Solid Command line experience and firm understanding of Linux files. Work with critical files regarding boot process, password, network, log files.

Create user and group as required, implement password policy, password lifetime, minimum length, set password complexity, failed login attempt, lock, unlock. Create access control list for user, create disk quota, assign file permission, user access control on file and directory using sticky bit and file attribute.

Create Physical Volume, Create new Volume Group, extend Volume Group, Create new Logical Volume and Extend Logical Volume, Disk Partitioning, create swap file on runtime, creating RAID 5.
