Sr. Quality Engineer

Oversee quality processes and systems in a major Tier 1 environment, in accordance with ISO/TS16949. Liaison between plant and major customers for all quality related issues, utilizing problem solving disciplines such as 8D and 5 Whys. Launch new projects utilizing Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) methods and documents such as Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FEMA) and Control Plans, conduct capability and gage R&R studies, perform Production Parts Approval Process (PPAP) submissions, conduct process & product audits, utilize Statistical Process Control (SPC) and other related statistical methods, participate in product / process improvement teams, lead corrective / preventative action teams. Work in conjunction with design engineers for reworks. Track data for QOS and Monthly Quality Reports due to corporate. Responsible for processing invoices that correlate to third party sort charges.

Quality Engineer

Review plant Engineering Work Orders and attend weekly Engineering Change meeting to ensure communication to all affected areas of the plant and monitor breakpoints for implementation. Ensure all Torque issues discovered by the plant are remedied. Actively participate in Change Approval Board for plant impact and release of parts and tooling requirements. Work with Quality Engineers and repair personnel to root cause body leaks, water leaks, squeaks and rattles and wind noise issues for the full sized vans (GM610 Chevy Express and GMC Savannah) and mid-sized trucks (Chevy Colorado (2015 Truck of the year) and GMC Canyon) through Red X problem solving. Participate in Production Parts Approval Process (PPAP). Responsible for accounts payable related to plant reworks, temporary work order verification and monitoring to ensure target implementation dates are met.

Key Accomplishments:

Responsible for ensuring all reworks are paid in accordance with work order cost approval (appx $1.5 mil per year)

Chosen above more senior engineers to drive Captured Test Fleet defects to resolution for launch of new mid-size truck, improving processes and product quality.

Global Compliance Audit (GCA) Manager

Supervised three (3) plant auditors in the daily conduct of the General Motors Global Customer Audit and Fast Response processes. Identified engineering related quality issues and communicate to Quality Engineering team. Ensured compliance with ISO 9001-2008 standards through conducting internal audits, Corrective Action and following through, ensuring compliance with Quality Management System. Ensured GM-Global Manufacturing System implementation via regular audits on the shop floor.
