OSF Home Infusion Pharmacy Peoria, Illinois 2009 - Present

A full service Home Infusion facility

Manager

Plan, direct and manage the operations of the pharmacy department. Coordinate services with Home Health and Home Medical equipment divisions. Currently managing a department with a Gross Revenue of over $20 million with a staff of 25, a mix of professional and non professionals. Also have oversight over 4 Material Management staff including a Materials Management supervisor.

Responsible for making sure that all the referrals are handled appropriately with regards to insurance verification and delivery coordination.

Implemented a new electronic Time and Attendance system

Initiated a labor cost saving plan which resulted in 20% reduction in overtime and was adopted by other agencies in the enterprise.

Involved in a 6-Sigma project which led to the revamping of the Home Care Coordinators’ job description which resulted in a cost savings of over $43,000 (FY ’09) from overtime elimination.

Was the process owner of a Lean 6-Sigma project which led to the overhaul of how our infusion pumps are handled resulting in over $25,000 cost savings from lost pump elimination and an additional $10,000 from decrease in rental/lease cost.

SHERMAN HOSPITAL Elgin, Illinois 2006 – 2008

A 363-bed, not-for-profit acute care hospital.

Director of Pharmacy Services/Clinical Services

Planned, directed and managed the operations of pharmacy services for Medical Center, Outpatient Services, Cancer Care Center and the Ambulatory Care Clinics. Managed a $10 million budget, staff, and the computerization of the Pharmacy Department.

Responsible for designing the main Pharmacy and satellite pharmacies for the replacement hospital at Sherman.

Developed and implemented an out-patient pre-authorization program which resulted in over $500,000 savings.

Spearheaded the implementation of a therapeutic interchange program for the erythropoietic agents that saved the institution approximately $300,000.

Negotiated and upgraded the Pyxis system (migrated from Pyxis 2000 to the 3500 version).

Initiated an IV to PO program which included antibiotics, anti-emetics and antifungals resulting in savings over $150,000.

Eliminated the use of agency services which resulted in over $100,000 savings.

Developed a clinical pharmacy program which created an avenue for pharmacy consults from physicians, PAs, nurses and nurse anesthetists.

Served as a preceptor for Midwestern University Pharmacy and LECOM School of Pharmacy which provided inpatient, outpatient and pharmacy management experience.

A tertiary community hospital licensed for 475 beds (440 in-service), with 25,000 annual admissions, 75,000 Emergency Room visits, and nearly 500,000 outpatient registrations.
