INTERNSHIP

I was a part of the riveting section in Electrical switch gears plant of L & T. The objective of internship was to get an exposure in manufacturing industry & study the process of riveting to generate a cumulative report giving insights for improvements.

Accomplishments:

Report generation on riveting study.

Preparation of Standard Operating Procedures for each riveting station in the shop.

Part of inspection / buyoff which involved comparison of specs with standard data.

BE PROJECT

Experimental Analysis of Helical coil & Shell Type Heat Exchanger.

This project is based on increasing the heat transfer rate of heat exchanger. Taking into consideration the complex fluid dynamics in helical coil, we developed a cone shaped helical coil carrying hot fluid and placed in shell carrying cold fluid. With the aim of increasing heat transfer rate we took the advantage of increasing surface-area/volume ratio due to the construction and hence an approach towards compact equipment.

Accomplishments:

Development of concept.

Study of complex fluid dynamics in helical coil.

Constructing cone shape helical coil structure and studying the performance under various flow conditions.

Manufacturing of shell for accompanying the helical coil Structure and arranging necessary accessories.
