OBJECTIVE:

Seeking a challenging position as AIX/WIN Systems Administration, Inventory Manager, Evaluation, and testing and/or Technical Hardware and Software support and making use of my experience and training. Backup support using Netbackup, TSM, and Dataprotector.

Associates Degree in Electronics and many years extensive experience in the computer industry with specialties in the following areas:

Inventory control and parts ordering. Ordering parts and data entry to maintain inventory control. Order hardware/software and shipping units to other sites. Tracking parts to make sure they were received. Maintain levels of onsite stock. Negotiate purchase contracts for hardware and software purchases. Wrote and maintained department inventory system.

Systems Analysis and Evaluation: Analysis and match hardware/software configurations with customer requirements. Meet with key personnel to discuss needs; research available software packages and hardware systems; evaluate and make recommendations based on findings.

Testing and troubleshooting: Functioned as Site Technical Liaison and site PC Coordinator authorizing hardware/software purchases. Test software for problems and write up industry APAR. Beta test hardware and software prior to release; write reports. Troubleshoot, service and maintenance on a wide variety of equipment.

Management and Supervision: Administrate Windows, and AIX systems. Supervise test and evaluation teams and report results to upper management. Train customers and support staff on new software. Working for Wipro and doing work for Federal Mogul migrating systems from Detroit to Chicago while working from San Antonio Texas. Contract job to move all netbackup systems to new location in Chicago. Also for upgrading systems when possible from NetBackup 7.1 to 7.5. Daily NetBackup support and trouble shooting. Maintain AIX, Linux and windows systems to insure backups run correctly

9/2014 – 11/2014 - Honeywell - Remote NetBackup support

Working for Capgemini and doing Honeywell contract to migrate 2000 systems from TSM to NetBackup. One site in Arizona the other in Delaware. Contract position from home. Installed new software and migrated systems to new NBU masters from their worldwide network of systems. Daily NetBackup support and trouble shooting. Maintain AIX, Linux and windows systems to insure backups run correctly.

Tested and evaluated new administrator tools for monitoring systems such as Netfinity and Systemview for OS/2 and AIX. Spokes person for IBM WARP Server product. Worked on implementation plan for getting our Internet connection as well as getting everyone on Lotus Notes.

Lead System Engineer: Directed new system configurations, supervised several contractors to install configurations. Maintain Local area network. Assigned systems network addresses and maintained Domain name server on AIX. Installed a backup system for all the operating systems using the software Netvault by AT&T. I setup buying contracts with several companies for hardware and software purchases. Setup and supervised the help desk group. I m also a spoke person for TME10 Netfinity and Systemview as well as a beta tester for said products. We now have over 150 systems running these products. I have been beta testing other software for 0S/2 as well as for WIN3x, WIN95, and WinNT. I also evaluate hardware for possible use within our company.

1/1994-11/1994 - Aviation Technology Systems

Training Specialist and Subject Matter Expert RISC6000: Hired to help verify training materials written about the RISC6000 and AIX for the FAA, as well as tools written for the FAA by ATS. Taught classes on RISC6000 system use and maintenance. Helped install LAN within ATS and taught our users to use it as well as other software. Did a task and skill analyst for upcoming FAA projects. Interviewed FAA personnel for information on how things are done now so training could be put together to teach the new software they would use.
