PROJECT TITLE: “Flow Analysis of Casting”
The project is concerned with the computational fluid dynamics, simulation of the flow analysis of the casting with the help of ANSYS (multi-physic, version 09). This comprises of simulating a very complex model geometry in which there is a flow of molten metal in the mould cavity. The objective was to achieve uniform flow of molten metal in the mould cavity. Hence it was decided to study the flow of molten metal in casting by providing different position of gate opening to overcome the different defects that are arising in usual casting process and most effective gate opening is selected on the basis of the analysis done on ansys software to get effective casting.

PROJECT TITLE: “Investigation of performance and emission characteristics of VCR engine using Bio-Diesel/Diesel blends as a fuel”
Increase in energy demand, stringent emission norms and depletion of oil resources have led the researchers to find alternative fuels for internal combustion engines. The rapidly increasing consumption of fossil fuel and petroleum products has been a matter of concern for the many countries which imports more crude oil. Because it causes huge foreign exchange out-go on the one hand and increasing exhaust emission on the other. Therefore it is necessary for the development of renewable energy sources. Present an experimental work is conducted to obtain the operating and emission characteristics of Undi Oil Biodiesel on Variable Compression Ratio (VCR) engine run on various blends of biodiesel, compression ratios and load conditions. From the comparison of results, it is inferred that the engine performance is improved with significant reduction in emissions for the chosen oils without any engine modifications.
