A software and consulting company with customers nationwide dealing primarily with nursing

homes, home healthcare agencies, and durable medical equipment companies.

Managed a technical staff of programmers, consultants, and support representatives in providing a wide range of software related services associated with payroll, A/P, G/L, A/R, cost analysis, budgeting, purchasing, inventory, fixed assets, preventive maintenance, scheduling, patient care, and statistics.

In addition to personally handling analysis problems on a daily basis, I scheduled staff activities for both in-house and customer needs. As a result, the company increased its customer base by 50, covering 7 new states, and increased customer base sites from 200 to 300 plus without having to add additional staff.

Significant accomplishments: Created a multi-location system for customer problems, calls, and inquiries resulting in a 20% increase in productivity; established a process for designing documents which increased programmer productivity by 15%; administrated new releases of software products to existing customers improving our position in the market and making sales easier; redesigned W-2 payroll processing to conform to new Federal regulations; designed a new computer room; played a significant role in the creation, development and growth of this new company.

A software consulting company for psychiatric hospitals, nursing homes, home health care

agencies, durable medical equipment divisions, prisons, unions, and claims processing.

Known as Advanced Concepts and Programs for Institutions, Ltd. prior to 1986.

Managed a staff of four programmers and four customer support personnel in the design/servicing of software systems relating to payroll, A/P, G/L, A/R, Human Resources, analysis, budgeting, dietary, Medicaid and Medicare requirements, purchasing, inventory, fixed assets, preventive maintenance, scheduling, claims processing, pharmacy, patient care, and statistics.

The profitable and efficient operation that resulted increased the customer base from 135 sites to over 200, expanding into seven new states.

Significant highlights: Wrote a new employee benefit package to calculate employer taxes and liabilities; directed documentation preparation with on-line read capability saving approximately $25,000 per release of software; instituted programming logging procedures which increased programming performance by 20%.

Developed and implemented several revenue improving strategies such as conceiving a plan to bill staff time per hour in addition to the contract price, and developed a plan to have customers request changes and have them billed as programming costs (per hour) increasing revenues $250,000 plus a year.

Provided customer software package support including training, modifications, and problem solving.

Played a significant role in organizing the company's internal processing systems to accommodate expected sales growth.

Chief Financial Officer, Riverdale Nursing Home. NY 1981-1983

A 160-bed nursing home averaging $10 Million in revenues with 200+ employees.

Managed full financial control of this company handling all Medicaid and Medicare processing, payroll functions, accounts payable, general ledger, billing, and accounts receivable. Also responsible for tax reporting and budgeting.

Reorganized the accounting department converting from a manual to a computerized operation for billing, accounts receivable, payroll, accounts payable and general ledger.

Performed a cost of purchase analysis which resulted in a 10% reduction in the cost of subsequent purchases.

Negotiated on union contracts and policies.
