An experienced drilling fluids Engineer that work constantly and actively shifting focus between engineering skill and management skill. Administer the full lifecycle of drilling fluids as requirements specification and resolve any problem occurred during drilling/any circumstances. Have wide-ranging knowledge for drilling operations, well control and completion in oil & gas operations.

Engineering Skill

As an effective drilling fluids engineer, I have to focus on two skills, one of the skills was Engineering skill that applied in rig site which included:

Find out the details of the well design, such as geology aspect, wellbore trajectory & stability, as well other aspect that closely related to structure of the well and apply its condition toward drilling fluids substance to avoid unnecessary circumstances take place throughout making hole.

Provide detail specification and assessment of drilling fluids work to all related crew and superintendent to make them better understanding each other about the important of drilling fluids in operations.

Constantly cover detail planning about the situation for the next day operation such as chemical stock, laboratory test kit availability to make sure all jobs from drilling fluids can be done without have to be rush.

Have an ability to predict time and cost needed to built drilling fluids from the scratch or to maintain its function.

Carry on the monitoring and reporting the conditions of the drilling fluids at all times during drilling and quickly takes action if something seems not right to make sure the success of drilling process.

Keep on optimistic thoughts and make each and every one failure as lessons learned that shouldn’t be done in the next day.

Management skills

The other skill that needed as drilling fluids engineer is management skills which included:

Leadership aptitude to build solid drilling fluids teamwork.

Understanding the full scope of work involved in drilling fluids project, such as chemical availability, solid control management, maximum pit volume, discarding process, and further related work to drilling fluids.

Ability to set priorities or allocation of resources to the most needed places to prevent mistreatment and runs out of resources.

Maintain relationship among team member that enable them to work effectively.
