Client: Office of Health Affairs HQ. Department of Homeland Security

E-Health Records (EHR) System:

Currently developing a DHS EHR system to track workforce health, preparedness, and ready posture to fight any incident and contract surveillance. Charged with the project plan, requirements gathering, stakeholder management, risk management, the SDLC, and agile project management.

Working with NOC, CIOs, and firewall teams to document/diagram net designs, implementation plans, SLAs, MOUs, authorization and validation processes, and the security infrastructure. Developed security documents for ATO, ATT, and FedRAMP approval.

Collaborating with DHS and its IT leadership to resolve issues, standardize processes, and ensure governance.

Maintaining budget and establishing the foundation, documents, and justification for the next system iteration.

Implemented and designed a SharePoint site for team collaboration, document library, and system (project branding). Built data dictionary for the current and future system.

O365 Project Manager

Clients: National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL), within the DOE (NETL.DOE.GOV); Office of the Chief, Border Patrol; Customs and Border Protection; Department of Homeland Security

Cloud Computing:

Defined detailed project plans and led the proof of concept (PoC), followed by the migration of 2000 users to an Office 365 Government Cloud from a GroupWise on-premise email system.

oConducted a cost/benefit analysis to show savings and ROI for the transition to BYOD, using Mobile Device Management (MDM) with Active Directory Federated Services (ADFS); gained client approval.

oManaged 35 contractors during the analysis of the current WAN/Network infrastructure, MDM, security, policies, and email systems to prepare for the migration.

oDesigned and managed the AD Federation Server Farm 2.0 with Windows Server Datacenter 2012, in order to support single sign-on.

oUsed MS System Center Manager to push out, update, and manage desktop and laptops at a cost savings.

oProduced deliverables that included: build out of a test/dev environment; development of governance documents, with review periods; management of stakeholder and team meetings; and configuration of the tenant. Performed upgrades to network WAN/LAN.

Governance and Documentation:

Within an environment lacking governance and appropriate documentation, managed the creation of robust documentation to outline changes and requirements. Created clearly defined policies for internet access, network storage, records management, data recovery, data retention (current & future), and BYOD with MDM.

oConducted weekly brown bag training sessions to share knowledge and resolve challenging issues.

oGenerated documents, procedures, and policies for the Enterprise Architecture, Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC), and Systems Engineering Lifecycle (SELC).

Networking:

SharePoint:

Implemented and maintained SQL Server 2008 cluster and AD 2008 users, groups, and machines.

Clients: Border Patrol Headquarters (HQOBP), including US Customs and Border Protection (CBP)

Managed a 12-member, IT Support team for senior management and executive staff, such as the Commissioner of CBP, the Chief, and the Deputy Chief. $2.3M budget responsibility for pc refresh, support, the service desk, wireless devices, and monthly billing, as well as for an A/V VTC implementation, support, and upgrades.

Security and Standards Compliance:

Managed installation of a security and identity management technology (MobiKEY) for identity assurance and individualized secure access to applications, data, and networks in a mobile computing environment. Wrote end-user instructions to educate staff on features and functionality.

Evaluated, recommended, configured, and supported software to secure automated systems from unauthorized use, viruses, and malware.

As part of a security awareness program, worked with the Computer Security Incident Response Center (CSIRC) to resolve all infractions, such as sending classified files using BlackBerry devices.

Documented and reported on potential threats, per NIST guidelines.
