#1 Project: CPQ (Configure Price Quote)

Role: Senior .Net Developer

Description:

CPQ is a tool to configure price and Quote the gates industrial products Hydraulic Hose Assemblies(Hydraulic Cut Hose, Industrial Cut Hose and Engine Cut Hose),V-Belts and Curved Hose.

Each of these products utilizes an individual set of system tools and workflows through the Gates organization in order to define (configure) and subsequently establish a quotation for delivery to the customer. On a monthly basis, Gates processes roughly 1,500 unique quote requests for the IOE market, with response cycle times with existing workflows and tools ranging from 3 days to 20 days on average.

The primary benefits of developing a CPQ system for all IOE products are:

Protects organizational cost improvements

Insulates market from significant tpc/price shifts

Includes product positioning strategy – Good, Better, Best

Pricing will be linear over common part attributes

Potential significant cycle time improvement depending on deployment options

Enables future mobile quote estimate capabilities

Value-based math and a prototype CPQ tool was initially launched in April of 2013 and has been in service delivering the above benefits. It is envisioned that this CPQ tool will also cover all specification types of cut hose and a unique tool for these products also This tool maintains the unit prices, Material TPC for each product and also discount matrix for each customer of the Gates and maintains all the Gates product details to configure the customer orders. Depending on the quantity, unit price, Material TPC and discount this tool will calculate the total price of the each customer order and print the Quote letters to send the Quotation to the customers.

#2 Project: Mectrol Specification System

Description: The Mectrol belt project delivered a belt specification system for the definition of a certain kind of belts manufactured by Gates. A belt specification defines the process parameters and materials necessary to manufacture finished good items. The belt specification system developed is a layered web application consisting of data, business logic and user interface layers. The system was developed using the Microsoft tool set consisting of Visual Studio, SQL Server, and SSRS (SQL Server Reporting System). Third party tools were also used with Visual Studio, notably the Telerik grid. The application layers interact across multiple distributed servers. The business group defined the required application functionality.

Created prototype and production-level object-oriented applications throughout software development lifecycle, including design, modeling, coding, testing, and documentation.

Description: It has been determined at Life Technologies that existing software issues stored within a Team Track Issue Management system should be migrated into an HP-QC (Hewlett Packard – Quality Center) environment. The recommended import methods to use the OTA API functionality provided by HP-QC. The OTA API (Open Test Architecture Application Programming Interface) is a set of COM objects that allows the integration of external applications and scripts with HP-QC through the use of any COM enabled language such as VBScript, Visual Basic, C#, C++, etc… Through the use of the OTA API, individual defect items and their respective parts such as description steps can be created programmatically. This is an ideal situation. As the exporting of data proceeds, each Team Track record can be inserted into the HP-QC environment simultaneously creating the new record and setting its attributes.

Any user can view the pages but cannot edit the content only the Category manager can edit the content of the pages, which are under his category. Different versions of the pages are stored. Traits: Super Admin will give different traits to each employee. Traits can be modified. When a user logs in his traits are shown on the top of the Home page.
