Cohen is a Regional CPA firm with client base comprised of broker dealers, hedge funds and trading advisory companies. Competent in all aspects of fund management companies, partnerships and corporations’ fund accounting records and reconciliations. Proficient in financial statement compilations- monthly, quarterly and annual from source documents utilizing QuickBooks in addition to preparation of payroll through year-end tax reporting, Focus and FINRA filing compliance with government regulations. Acting Director of Finance/Assistant Town Administrator 1998-1999

I was Treasurer for the Town of Weston, CT (Triple A rating) with $55 million annual budget. My responsibilities included investing, consistent with the Town’s investment policy to maximizing earnings with high levels of security and liquidity, payment of obligations, issuance of debt and provision of financial advice. I prepared all Monthly reports for the Board of Finance, Board of Selectmen and the Town Administrator. I interacted with all our financial institution service providers, Town officials, Counsel and our outside independent auditors. I served one year as the Acting Director of Finance while we searched for a permanent replacement.

I automated and reorganized the Town Treasurer’s responsibilities and workflow. This included updating technology including direct on-line access to the town’s major financial service providers, organizing and streamlining records management, and developed procedures manuals and cross departmental training.

Initiated many significant changes to the accounting procedures including additional internal controls. Evaluated and recommended a new municipal accounting application, planned transition and coordinated the implementation.

I provided organizational, accounting and tax services directly to the Chairman and his family on their charitable foundation and various personal business ventures. I coordinated various non-financial projects including real estate purchases.

When our family moved to Paris, France I continued on as an Independent Consultant to the Chairman to ensure his financial affairs were handled flawlessly; and Tricon USA to ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities and to monitor that all filing requirements and deadlines were being met.
