I am writing this resume in response to your advertisement for a (Maintenance Millwright) that appeared in the newspaper or online. My experience expands 30+ years doing all aspects of maintenance buildings and grounds.

WORK EXPERIENCE

1985 – 2006 REGIONAL TRANSIT AUTHORITY, NEW ORLEANS, LA

Duties for 18+ years included the following. First 3 years as a maintenance millwright then promoted to assistant Superintendant of Maintenance for the remaining 18 years. I supervised a crew of 15. Their duties were electrical, mechanics, welding and all aspects of building maintenance. My experience with RTA involved specialty welding on cracked rear axle housing. This was welded with 7018 rods. For 3 years, I welded pipe speed bumps, built a fabrication shop shed. I also was involved in fabrication of duct work with the use of press breaker, shearing machine, and most sheet metal shop equipment.

1978 – 1985 OCCIDENTAL CHEMICAL, NORCO, LA

I worked as a general plant maintenance millwright. My duties involved any aspect of maintenance. I fabricated pump base and installed pumps had to re-route suction and discharge piping by welding flanges. Build working platforms. Also, responsible for aligned couplings on pumps.

1973 – 1978 WALL SHIPYARD, GRETNA, LA

I supervised personnel in the production of marine fabrication. I was responsible for accurate blue print reading, obtaining material, and layout for fabrication of push boat and dry docks. The boats were 65’ & 70’ in length. I built frames, midshipmen cabins, pilothouse, rudders and everything associated with the boat construction. The largest dry dock that I built was 300 tons. This was the last project that I worked on at Wall Shipyard.

1964 – 1973 EVANS COOPERAGES

Millwright repaired production machinery, also built specialty conveyor systems for making drums filled with chemicals, petroleum to load on trucks. I also built a drum flipper to turn drums over for filling with chemicals I also welded pressure steam lines they were drill stem pipe of which I had to weld with 7018 rods. I also had to weld patches on leaking barge bottoms and rake ends of barges and whatever other repairs were needed. I also maintained automatic filling scales pneumatically operated.
