COST REDUCTION MANAGER
Development and implementation of product and process cost reduction ideas to meet annually negotiated customer productivity SPECS / SCORE targets with Ford Motor Company and Chrysler. Significant Achievement: Received special recognition for generation of significant cost reduction and product innovation ideas including a key role in implementation of a $1 Million USD annual cost savings proposal.
PROGRAM MANAGER
Management of engineering, cost and timing issues including the successful launch of critical safety components on several new major car and truck programs with Ford Motor Company and Chrysler. Interaction with client engineering, purchasing, quality, finance and assembly personnel with extended onsite representation at client prototype and vehicle production facilities throughout North America for periods of up to nine months at a time.
Budd Company Stamping and Frame Division. 1990 - 1993
PROJECT ENGINEER
Key customer engineering contact on components and assemblies for light truck frame programs from prototype through production with $100 Million USD in annual sales with GM T&B. This included review of designs, manufacturing feasibility, cost reduction proposals, hydro-forming and SMC feasibility studies for heavy truck frame programs. Management of engineering issues with current production truck frame and body sheet metal programs, included special overseas programs with Brazil, Indonesia and China. Given special assignment to successfully resolve ongoing quality and customer satisfaction issues on a key program. Position also included periodic seasonal duty as manufacturing line supervisor to cover personnel shortages.
