WORK EXPERIENCE

Housing Services Director

Cal Poly Pomona Foundation Inc. - November 2005 to January 2015

Directed all operations and programmatic functions associated with an auxiliary sponsored campus

student housing program and related services. Developed and monitored an operating budget exceeding 10

million dollars with an average yearly surplus in excess of one million dollars. Provided direction and support for the following senior level positions: Assistant Director for Community Standards, Assistant Director for Leadership Development, Associate Director for Operations and Finance, Residential Area Directors, Community Development Specialist, Accounts Specialist, Assignments and Summer Programs Coordinator, Technology Services Manager and Health and Safety Coordinator. In directly managed the Foundation Facilities Manager, 24 Resident Advisors, IT Assistants, Community Development Staff and Maintenance and Clerical Staff. Created business plans, short, long-term and strategic operating goals with a focus on reorganization, organizational development, customer service and financial growth. Developed, facilitated and completed a five year renovation and rehabilitation project for all apartment spaces and common buildings and constructed new study, computer lab, office and commercial spaces. During my tenure as Director, the Foundation Housing Program moved forward as a chief "revenue center" for the Foundation and larger University-providing housing for over 1300 campus constituents living in 330 apartment units and reinvesting over one million dollars annually in student services and facilities development. Foundation Housing Service operates the University Village consisting of 32 residential, recreational, administrative and service related buildings on 22 acres of land adjacent to Cal Poly Pomona.

Dean of Student Services

New York Institute of Technology - New York, NY - August 2004 to November 2005

Developed from concept, the Office of Student Services and served as founding Dean. Provided leadership

for college-wide auxiliary services including: residential, dining, transportation, facilities/capital development/ operations, safety and security, bookstores, retail operations and residential computer/technology services. Developed the residential student housing program and facilities for the Old Westbury Campus and co-lead the closure and relocation of the Central Islip Student Affairs Departments. Facilitated the college-wide emergency support and protocol response process and served as senior member of the Vice President for Student Affairs management team. Coordinated all recruitment and retention programs for the Division of Student Affairs and served as judicial appeals officer. Led college-wide constituent committees charged with the enhancement and development of new and existing student services. Directly supervised an Assistant Dean, two Directors of Residential Services, Assistant Director for Student Services and multiple administrative and clerical support staff. Served concurrently as Interim Campus Dean for one of the three NYIT campuses.

Options for Community Living Inc. - December 1996 to June 1999

Managed all aspects of the development and administration of four New York State licensed supervised and supportive residential programs for severely and persistently Mentally Ill/MICA adults. Selected, trained and supervised master's level community residence coordinators, mental health counselors and case managers. Provided oversight in the development of a comprehensive treatment and restorative services process, life skills training, community integration, program budgets, Medicaid/Medicare billing processes and quality control inspections to ensure that New York State Office of Mental Health standards were integrated and maintained throughout the programs.

Served as member of the psychiatric treatment and rehabilitative team.
