INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE
Hardware Engineering Intern
Seacomp, Carlsbad, CA April 2014- Sept 2014
• Used Altium CAD tools to build schematic and laying out PCB design of display projects
• Prototyped and tested FReal Cape LCD display sub-circuit to enable read/write onto the chip
• Prototyped and tested backlight driver circuit
• Obtained experience using industrial soldering tools to solder and DE solder the compo nents of integrated circuits on PCB
Advanced Manufacturing Intern
Combined Power, Santee, CA Jan 2014- March 2014
• Built and tested the low-pass RC filter to reduce the noise in the signal to read the flow of water
• Soldered the low-pass RC filter to the input wire to suppress the noise caused by higher frequencies
• Polished the back side of the mirrors with coating to prevent them from corroding in water
PROJECT EXPERIENCE
Datalogger
Cubic Transportation Systems, UCSD Project Jan 2015- Present
• Tested and implemented current sensor and temperature sensor to add to the mobile validator to measure the sensitivity of device
• Tested and implemented the RF signal read by two turns coil for the Amplitude modulation and measured the rise time of the signal
• Implemented band pass filter, rectifier and comparator circuits to read the input signal and card’s response in the field
• Used ExpressPCB to finish the schematic and layout of the PCB design
Carry-Skip Adder May 2014-June 2014
Digital Integrated Circuit Design, UC San Diego
• Implemented Carry-Skip algorithm to add 8 bits and reduced the worst case delay of the adder as compared to the ripple carry adder
• Finished the transistor level layout of 8-bit Carry-Skip adder using Cadence Virtuoso and also cleared off all DRC and LVS errors
Viacar Project
IEEE Project, UC San Diego Nov 2013- May 2014
• Worked on motor controller to apply PWM to control the speed of car
• Designed, tested and debugged Half-Bridge circuit to control forward, reverse and breaking functions of car
