Responsibilities
Implementation of field monitoring and analysis of water quality for marshlands
As G.I.S/Remote Sensing Analyst, preparation of geo-database on the socio-economic and
environmental information of marshlands,Topographic Aspects, desertification in middle and
southern Iraq and other phenomena like diseases diffusion
Projects and teams I am involved w ith in the Ministry
Marshland Field Team for the Southern Marshes Project (Nov. 2005 to Nov. 2006)
The project studies physical, chemical and biological characteristics of water as well as biodiversity
of the marshes in three governorates, BASRAH, MISSAN and THI-QAR.
Environmental Monitoring of the Main Drain.
This project is a part of activities under Phase three of UNEP’s Iraqi Marshlands Project (UNEP:
United Nation Environment Program). The project monitored physical and chemical characteristics
of the Main Drain water. The project was conducted from August to November 2008 and studied
possible application of phytochenology to reduce salinity and high concentration of other elements of
the water body in specific area, such as nitrite, nitrate, phosphorus and Sodium.

Iraq Basic Map project (January – September 2010)
This project is a part of my activities inside GIS center. More than nine months me and other GIS
staff we were responsible to finish all steps of this project includes scan map sheets, geometric
correction and create several shape files (layers) related with main roads, sub roads, main rivers,
sub Rivers, main lakes, and urban areas, international and local boundaries in addition to oil
infrastructure map with 100000/1 scale.
Identification Project for Soil Types and Causes of Dust Storms in Iraq
The project studies physical, chemical characteristics of Soil types that cause Dust Storms in
Northwest of Iraq by using GIS & Remote Sensing Techniques. Funded by Iraqi Ministry of
Environment, September 2010 – present.
Project of preparing Natural and Cultural file for selecting and nominating Marshes of
southern Iraq as a World Heritage Site (WHS team),
As a member of this team I am responsible to create Maps about this area by using GIS and R.S
technique. October 2011-present (3 years).
