County of Los Angeles promotes area development by forming strategic financial partnership with Community Redevelopment Agencies (CRA). The CRA is responsible for development of area which results in the increase of tax revenue. A part of the increased tax revenue is shared with the CRA based on complex contracts negotiated with the CRA. The CRA system is responsible to maintain these contract definitions and for the calculation and distribution of the money based on the contracts. The CRA system handles distribution of approximately USD 600 Million yearly.

Title: Team Leader/Architect Product: AIMS Feb ‘03 – Jan ‘05

AIMS (Advanced Integrated Management System) is the product developed to help SCR (state Central Registry) to efficiently carry out their functions like database checks for other agencies and general public, correspondence, work assignment, work scheduling etc. The new system is a replacement of legacy system which was written in mainframe and has legacy data. One of the objects of the project was to convert and carry this data into new system.

Roles & Responsibilities

As solution architect managed a team of 4 in design and development of web interface and components of AIMS

Designed the logical database model based on the JAD (Joint Applications Design) sessions with customers using normalization techniques up to 3rd Normalization form

Helped with complex conversion process of converting existing data for new system

Designed and developed complex components for the business rules of the system

Designed and developed a template generator tool which lets users save the new letter templates in the html format

Designed and developed web services to populate the letter from templates in the system

Provided high level design specifications for unit and integration testing
