WORK EXPERIENCE

Chemical Engineer, Adare Pharmaceuticals Inc., Vandalia OH.

[Jan 2013-Present]

Performed sampling, physical testing, and chemical testing of raw materials in accordance with cGMP guidelines in the quality control

department along with production enhancement.

Perform a large variety of analytical tasks for the development and validation of analytical methods used in the testing of drug products and

raw materials by means of various procedures including HPLC, GC and UV/Vis.

Lead on Rapid analysis, detection, and profiling and control support of all three classes of residual solvents in drug substances, excipients, and

drug products. Expertise in identification and quantification of impurities, including residual solvents and screening for potential interference

of water soluble-insoluble raw materials/APIs and identification of unknown peaks, feasibility studies, analyzing and interpreting the data.

Heavy metals, trace metal impurities and elemental impurity testing

Developed new methods and reduced send out testing in the quality control department. Trained and certified on the KAIZAN, Lean and 5S

projects.

Ensured Raw Material documentation is accurate and up to date and revise as needed (i.e. certificates of analysis, test methods, specification sheets

and Standard operating Procedures).

Audited laboratory documentation and method validations.

Performed assigned calibrations and preventative maintenance for equipment in the laboratory.

Process Engineer, Mustang Engineering, Client: Invista, Orange, TX.

[Apr 2012-Dec 2012]

Worked in Pressure relief system design and pressure drop analysis with reference to API 520, API 521, API 2000, ASME section VIII Division – I and

ASHRAE standards.

Analyzed individual processes in detail to calculate and determine the validity of relief devices on the basis of INVISTA Process Engineering Guidelines,

API and ASME standards.

Developed PFD from P&ID, identified all over pressure scenarios, and determined physical properties of process fluid at relieving condition.

Re-validated the size and capacity of existing relief valves, rupture disk, pressure vents and vacuum breakers.

Suggested correction to address deficiencies of the existing relief devices.

Performed Hydraulic calculations using AFT Arrow and Fathom and relief load using ASPEN HYSYS.

Also recommended marked up corrections for existing P&ID’s as a part of process analysis.

Chemical Engineering Research Assistant, University of Dayton Research Institute, Dayton, OH.

[Sep 2009 to Mar 2012]

EPA Combustion Testing Projects (NYSERDA, GLAD)

Investigated emissions of Polychlorinated Dibenzo-p-Dioxins and Furans (PCDD/Fs), Polybrominated Dibenzo-p-Dioxins and Furans (PBDD/Fs),

Polyaromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs), Hexachlorobenzene (HCB), Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and other pollutants of concern from combustion of

wood, agricultural plastics, medical waste and printed circuit board laminates in a cone calorimeter using polyurethane foams (PUFs) as a sampling

media.

Responsible for Process Safety Management (PSM), and environmental compliance.

Detected and analyzed toxic emissions such as dioxins, furans, PAHs, metals, and other semi -volatile organics using GC-MS, HPLC and ICP-MS.

Tested various raw materials which involved polymer coatings and thin film coatings in the material science lab.

Responsible for method validation, documentation and writing of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Process Engineer, Reliance Petroleum, Jam Nagar, Gujarat, India.

[May 2007-Dec 2008]

Assayed the Heat, material and energy balances, PFD and P&IDs, Line lists, instrumentation lists, pump specification sheets and vent & drain

systems.

Analyzed the readings of reactors and columns periodically and identified technical problems.

Responsible Product testing, Sensitivity analysis of FCC plant, catalyst handling procedures.

Established important guidelines for preparation of “Hazard & Operability “(HAZOP) Review and also participated in investigation, led by Process

Hazards Analysis team.

Adept in making standard operating procedures (SOP) and process control criteria.
