Project Experience

Michigan Tech Hybrid Electric Vehicle Enterprise (Platform Team) Fall 2012 - Spring 2015

Enterprise goal: Turning a 1949 Chevy pickup into a state-of-the-art HEV

Measured existing engine, e-motor and transmission, designed bellhousings using UG NX and Hypermesh. 12

models were created for maximum optimization. 60% weight reduction was achieved in the final model. FMEA

was performed during design phase. Prototypes were fabricated using billeted aluminum.

Designed and fabricated throwout bearing adaptor and emotor to clutch shaft. Powertrain was sucessfully

assembled and performed ideally.

Measured and created 3D models including 2002 Ford Explorer frame and suspensions, 2008 Mustang differential

and the customized powertrain. Assembled all the parts together and created a detailed vehicle model.

Fabricated various brackets and mounted battery, radiator, invertor and powertrain on to the chassis.

Customized a 05-10 Mustang steering rack to fit with Explorer chassis, installed and tested.

Presented bi-weekly project updates to advisor and professional presentation to General Motors.

Co-op and Internship experience

Co-op: AET Integration, Inc. Troy, MI, May– December 2014

Operated various machinery to prepare sheet metals in low tolerance for welding and adhesive bond testing.

Performed adhesive bonding and magnesium welding for GM’s AZ91 shock tower project.

Designed test fixtures and produced drawings using SolidWorks, fixtures were fabricated based on the design.

Performed Chrysler, Mercedes-Benz, Ford, GM and Nissan spot welding qualification.

Expertise on qualification standards of different manufactures (Chrysler, MBenz, Ford, GM, Nissan, AWS)

Performed destructive test for welded specimens.

Processed test data and compiled detailed testing reports for customers.
