Designed, coded, and maintained the NSCC FundServ system, which automated the processing of mutual fund trades by routing them to external fund groups. This system also processed confirms, as well as client registration information.

Created online transactions and batch cycles to incorporate new 401K clients.

Implemented an MFA trading system which automatically generated a high volume of mutual fund trades to match appropriate client profiles.

Designed an online order entry system to support the mutual fund business. This system allowed the entry of mutual fund orders from all Merrill Lynch branch offices throughout the world, as well as web based order entry.

Merrill Lynch (Mutual Funds Group) Programmer/Analyst Aug 1989 - July 2004

Led a team of consultants to support the Y2K conversion effort. Created test versions of all production files, test CICS regions, and ran complete test schedules of all production runs and transactions. Y2K conversion proceeded error free.

Coded complex calculator modules to calculate commissions on various types of mutual funds including CDSC commissions, and ROA/LOI calculations.

Designed a system to automatically liquidate client shares in order to pay their annual custodial fees. This replaced a manual system to bill clients, and wait for payment. Significant cost savings were realized.

Designed and coded an online system to track intraday buy and sell activity for Merrill Lynch mutual funds. This system was used by senior level fund managers to monitor trading activity during periods of high Market volatility.

Designed and coded a credit reporting system to monitor payments, and the credit worthiness of the customer base. Online transactions replaced outdated reports.

Updated the online order entry system to support new businesses and new product lines. Complex changes were required to support new business acquisitions.

Analyzed and optimized the entire batch cycle to reduce run time and CPU cost.

Made program coding changes as necessary to support the current business plan.
