OEM of heavy vocational truck chassis for refuse trucks, airport refuelers, specialized farm equipment, and oilfield drilling, work over, well service units. Report to Vice-President of Operations with 6 direct reports, and 9 indirect reports. (150 employees).

Responsibilities Include:

Facilitating, organizing, and ensuring compliance of all material functions within the company, covering Purchasing, Inventory Control, Production Control, Warehousing, Receiving, Shipping, and Logistics including; the development of program and process documentation (process flow diagram, control plan, and process / inspection work instructions); supplier PPAP review and approval.

Creating, initiating, and directing cost reduction initiatives and programs encompassing supplier negotiation, alternate sourcing, and working with Engineering for specification modification facilitating cost reductions.

Providing product support for programs including: the timely response to all internal requests and concerns; providing interdepartmental support; coordinating sorting, and liaison activities; and acting as a management point of contact for supplier communications.

Ensuring corrective actions are initiated, validated effective, and closed in a timely manner for all program Customer and internal concerns.

Accomplishments Include:

Successfully reduced inventory levels by 47%, over $15 million.

PRODUCTION CONTROL MANAGER 2007 to 2008 JTEKT AUTOMOTIVE of TEXAS, Ennis, Tx

Global Tier One Automotive Supplier, supplying steering gear assemblies to Toyota’s San Antonio, TX assembly plant TMMTX for the Tundra pickup, and their NUMMI Fremont, California assembly plant for the Corolla automobile and Pontiac Vibe. Provided production sub-components for similar products being assembled by JTEKT facilities in Virginia, Tennessee, and Brazil for Toyota. Reported to General Manager with 9 direct reports (150 employees).

Responsibilities Include:

All Supply Chain activities and customer support for all Toyota current production programs and new program launches including: participation in program and launch teams; facilitating the development of process flows development of control plans, work instruction, and visual aids; supplier PPAP review; ensuring compliance to all customer specific requirements.

Customer and product support for all Toyota programs including: maintaining customer satisfaction by ensuring an open line of communication with Toyota plants and corporate personnel and the timely response to all customer questions, request, and concerns; providing on-site support as required to ensure the timely resolution of product issues or concerns; and providing plant representation at all customer meetings.

Working in direct conjunction with Quality Manager in the initiation, facilitation, and validation of 8D corrective action reports for all Toyota quality concerns including: performing initial investigation of concern; completion and submission of initial response; coordinating containment activities; communication of concern to plant

management; root cause analysis activities, and the development, implementation,

verification and validation of corrective / preventive actions; and the timely submission to

the customer for acceptance and closure.

Performing internal system audits of on-going work toward, ISO/QS-9000, ISO-4000, and TS-16949 certification.

Successfully launched new Toyota programs in the production of electrically assisted steering gear assemblies.

NAVISTAR / INTERNATIONAL TRUCK & ENGINE SST TRUCK CO., LLC - Garland, Tx

Global Manufacturer of Class VIII Heavy and Severe Service Truck Chassis for applications in transportation, construction, mining, and specialized military roles. Reported to Supply Chain Manager with 21 direct reports. (600 active and 300 contract employees).

Responsibilities Included:

Managed all material planning and MRO purchasing functions in the building of up to 160 heavy truck chassis per day encompassing vendor on time deliveries, JIT, logistics, warehouse through put, line side presentation of material, VMI, and expediting of time critical material to insure plant viability and the successful meeting of production schedules.

Key team member in the launching of new programs and products.

Developed continuous improvement program utilizing cross functional teams and Kaizan techniques to decrease scrap, improve production output, and lower cost. Performed team development, training, and tracked project results.

Accomplishments Included:

Evaluation and modification of all purchasing, inventory control, and consumption logics, modifying procedures to bring production schedules into compliance with customer delivery requirements, optimizing production output through modifying line side presentation of material, realizing cost reductions through extended contracts while maximizing inventory turns.

Team leader in implementing new product launch for military project manufacturing armored trucks for use in Iraq. Worked and met very tight delivery schedules for the overseas shipment of vehicles, supported creation of new start-up facility for manufacture of armored cabs, and coordinated production and material activities to a successful, on-time completion of the project.

Team member in election and implementation of new Baan operating system to replace previously outdated Ask ManMan system.

Key team member in the overhaul of a production facility with an output of 1 to 2 trucks per day, to a facility producing 160 trucks per day, including the launching of 7 new product lines increasing production build rate over 400% in a 9 month period.
