Completed problem focused history and physicals in an Emergency Department setting, performed pelvic/speculum examination, STI evaluation, pregnancy tests, wound care, and staple/suture placement and removal, interpreted EKGs and imaging studies, splinted acute joints, developed differential diagnoses, ordered laboratory/diagnostic work-ups, created treatment plans, and completed discharge and admission orders, and charted patient evaluations with PowerChart

Women’s Health- St. Clair Hospital – Pittsburgh, PA March 16 - April 16, 2015

Assisted during gynecologic obstetric surgeries including: partial and complete hysterectomy (both robotic and laparoscopic), cystocele and rectocele repairs, cesarean, natural labor and deliveries, performed circumcisions, completed pelvic and speculum examinations, pap smears, STI cultures, IUD placement, fetal ultrasounds, fetal heart tones, fundal height measurements, immunizations, and discussed laboratory and diagnostic work-ups, treatment, and follow-up care, and attended grand rounds.

Surgery - UPMC Mercy – Pittsburgh, PA Feb. 9 – March 12, 2015

Acted as first and second assist during vulvectomy, partial/complete hysterectomy (both robotic and open), mastectomy, femoral popliteal bypass, carotid endarterectomy, cervical/thoracic/lumbar spinal fusion with laminectomy, clipping of AVM, spinal cord stimulator Stage I and II, and evacuation of intracerebral hemorrhages surgeries. Performed morning rounds daily and assisted in outpatient clinic, attended grand rounds, charted new patient evaluation, progress, and discharge notes through PowerChart.

Internal Medicine - Prime Care Internal Medicine – Plum/Homestead, PA Jan. 5 – Feb. 05, 2015

Evaluated patients from young adults to geriatrics, in outpatient setting. Discussed differential diagnoses, required laboratory/diagnostic work-up and treatment, completed interpretation of laboratory values and EKGs, charted of new patient evaluations, annual, well visit, and sick visits with paper charts.

Burn Unit- West Pennsylvania Hospital - Pittsburgh, PA Nov. 3 – Dec. 11, 2014

Evaluated patients with burn injuries and rare skin conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings, performed initial evaluation, and post-operative examinations, assisted with debridement and skin graft surgeries, changed of wound vacuums, removed staples, performed wound care and dressing changes, discussed follow-up care, attended grand rounds and charted progress notes through Sunrise EMR system.

Family Medicine -Deer Lakes Medical Associates- Cheswick/Oakmont/, PA Sept. 29 – Oct. 30, 2014

Evaluated patients outpatient offices and a Nursing/Assisted living facility. Urology -Triangle Urologic Group – Pittsburgh, PA Aug. 25 – Sept. 25, 2014

Evaluated patients with urologic conditions within an inpatient setting, completed interpretation of laboratory values, attended robotic assisted and open surgeries, performed prostate exams, urine dips, pregnancy tests, Lupron injections, discussed differential diagnoses, required laboratory/diagnostic work-up and treatment, and charted annual and new patient notes through Sunrise EMR system.

Pediatrics- Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh UPMC – Pittsburgh PA July 14 – Aug. 14, 2014

Evaluated pediatric patients in an Emergency Department setting, completed well infant/child examinations, sick visits, rapid strep tests, pregnancy tests, immunizations, casting of broken bones, performed interpretation of radiographs, MRIs, CTs, EKGs, and laboratory values, discussed appropriate laboratory/diagnostic and treatments, and charted evaluation notes through PowerChart EMR system.
