Assignment : Iron Mountain Document Management System

Role : FileNet Consultant

Project Description : Trim is a third party product used for commodity trading in Iron Mountain. IBM’s FileNet is used to manage a lifecycle of Contracts, Deals, Nominations, Settlements Invoices and Purchase bills created by IM Trading. The Trim application will create outbound documents (Ex: Invoices) that are sent to third parties and these documents will be stored in FileNet as part of the sending process. The Trim application will receive Inbound documents (Ex: Contracts) from third parties and these documents will ultimately be stored in FileNet as part of the sending process. The components involved in the Trim - FileNet integration include: FileNet: Custom Web Service built around the FileNet Java API that receives and stores documents and metadata and return a reference to a stored object.

Responsibilities:

Involved in building the FileNet environment from scratch.

Involved in creation of Content Engine Domain and configuring Object Stores. And implementing content model.

Performing FileNet administrative activities using FileNet Enterprise Manager (FEM ) Tool.

Involved in Performing the File Net health checks.

Check the availability space on all environments (Dev/ UAT/Prod) and purge the log files.

Project Description : Verizon-MPC is a Mail Processing Centre - There are 2 aspects to dealing with documents in Verizon; there are the inbound documents either coming directly into the MPC from the customer or coming into the MPC from branches. The other aspect is outbound documents that will need to be stored within File Net in order to be content managed. Incoming emails will be retrieved directly into Verizon and then they will be stored in FileNet in the same way as outbound documents. The IBM Content Collector will be used to import documents from the source folder into File Net. Inbound documents will be stored in FileNet after being scanned in the MPC. A reference to the document will be held in Verizon and Verizon will retrieve the document image and metadata using a File Net web service.

Responsibilities:

Involved in installing various components of File Net P8 components.

Involved in creation of Content Engine Domain and configuring Object Stores.

Configured FileNet ICC according to document types of Captiva for ingestion of documents.

Project Description : The SWITCHERS-IN application provides the solutions to store documents in FileNet CE Object Stores captured by Captiva Capture. Documents received into Document data centers will be sorted into batches on a per-process basis. These documents will be physically scanned in a series of batches, which will contain sufficient identifying (barcode) information to identify the documents as specific types of documents. The documents will be digitized as .tiff files, 200dpi, black and white, which will be further used for the case processing. For documents without barcodes (like supporting documents from customers) scan center will use customers sort code & account number to identify and retrieve the meta-data for that document. The Captiva scan servers release batches into shared folders and these locations will contain tiff image files along with XML metadata files (one XML per tiff file). ICC will be configured to poll these share locations and ingest the document into the FileNet repository. First, documents and their associated metadata (the indexing information referred to above) are added to the FileNet Object Store. Finally, active documents which are initially being stored as BLOBs in the CE database will after six months will be migrated to "Centera" by a custom application.
