Objective:

My goal is to apply my current clinical experience to a career in nursing and allow for potential growth in the field. I am willing to learn new things, and I look forward to being able to explore my potential and apply new experience for the sake of becoming a valuable employee.

EXPERIENCE:

Normandy School District

School Nurse (RN): Implement comprehensive program of health services for schools in the Normandy community. Collaborate with parents, educators, and community healthcare agencies in order to promote health education and preventive health practices for students.

Unity Hospice

Case manager, RN: Enhance remaining life of terminally ill individuals by controlling pain, managing symptoms, and by providing emotional and spiritual support to the patient and family.

Department of Health and Senior Services

Over fifteen years experience hiring, training and supervising caseworkers and clerical staff. Job entailed staff training and development of over twenty-five caseworkers. Training included Medicaid guidelines, policies and procedures for in-home and consumer directed services based on the nursing home level of care. Also reviewed, evaluated, and responded to client complaints. Conducted interviews to determine findings of abuse, neglect, and exploitation, completed home visits and reviewed cases assessing the elderly and disabled population.

St. Louis Caring Communities Programs

As an initiating Site Manager, coordinated, assessed and implemented services for at-risk youths, families and communities. Worked as a Liaison with St. Louis Public Schools and Community Agencies to develop and implement committees and representatives to obtain school and community goals.

Department of Social Services

Worked as an Income Maintenance Caseworker for approximately four years. Job entailed completing home visits and interviewing under- privileged families to determine eligibility for Medicaid, Temporary Income, and Food Stamps. Also worked as a Confidential Case Worker overseeing cases of family members of all state employees who were receiving Medicaid assistance. Promoted to Income Maintenance Supervisor, responsible for hiring and training staff to do the job of an Income Maintenance Caseworker.
