Security Police Officer/K-9 Handler

Was an Explosive Detection Canine Handler (K-9), patrol assigned areas, prevent the unauthorized access of individuals and the introduction of explosive devices and weapons to the Hanford Nuclear Site. Prevent theft of Special Nuclear Material, assault, and vandalism to company personnel, assets and belongings. Physically checked mail and packages, employee badges for proper access, searched vehicles for prohibited items, checked windows, buildings, fence lines, roads, etc. for security integrity, provided access into secured areas, responded to and assessed emergency situations, security alarms and accidents and conducted necessary activities to address/resolve situations, performed emergency medical services, assisted in providing mutual aid as requested by other law enforcement agencies, completed written incident reports as necessary, followed company policies & procedures to obtain and use explosive training aids to complete weekly K-9 drills to train K-9 on various odors and maintained a record of such training, and complete K-9 demonstrations as requested. I can provide First Aid to the canine and I am able to recognize health problems with a canine.
