Overall, contributed in saving approximately $1 Million in labor per year across four assembly lines. PROJECTS:

Strategically designed a workstation layout in AutoCAD for a U-shaped assembly line on a $10,000 budget that could support 8 operators. Wrote the capital budget request which included the justification of how the project would enable Rheem to accommodate NIOSH labor standards and also included the estimated payback period. The payback period was determined by translating the removal of non-value added activity to monetary annual savings. The proposed design was accepted and is currently in construction at Rheem. Designed and implemented a user friendly VBA macro enabled workbook for my assembly line to manage unit model type databases imported from ORACLE. The project was not assigned, but I saw an opportunity for improving the current system and was given permission to try and model a better solution. Kaizen Blitz group project where other interns would take measurement and document observations on site and report them to me. I was then responsible for designing (in AutoCAD) and writing capital budget request for the implementation of a new workstation platform intended for 2 operators that would be placed alongside an assembly line on a $12,000 budget. This was built primarily to help Rheem adhere to NIOSH labor standards but it also resulted in removal of non-value added activity.
