The Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church (MOSC) Lectionary app combines the church calendar and the readings taken from the lectionary of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church. The readings are based on the “Veda Vayana Kurupu,” which was published by the Malankara Orthodox Church Publications in 1987. The actual readings are from the Revised Standard Version of the Bible.

The app presents two options: (1) Calendar view and (2) List view.

(1)Calendar view provides you with a church calendar and the readings can be found either by selecting on a date within the calendar or selecting the reading from the listing of lectionary readings that fall within the given month. You may move through the calendar by going to a specific date via the “Select Date” button or by using the left and right arrows that surround the month and year.

(2)List view presents the readings as you would find it in the official church lectionary book. You may search for a reading or scroll through the list to find your desired reading.

Both options will present the readings for its respective event. By tapping on the up and down caret symbol, you may expand or collapse a section. Tapping on any given reading will pull up that respective reading for viewing. Readings may be read like a book, using a swiping motion to move forward and backward.
