Duties and responsibilities

Carry out normal vehicle services as per service plan on forklifts, trucks and trailers

Carry out brake, engine, gearbox and differential overhaul.

Track units through taking oil samples and send to laboratories for inspection to check the status

Carry out suspension repairs

Service and repair electrical units like starter motors, alternators etc

Service pneumatic units, do repairs where necessary and also do troubleshooting.

Do vehicle maintenance as per plan

Reacting to breakdowns as quick as possible to reduce unnecessary delays

Planning and carrying out major overhauls of all mechanical units to set standards

Planning and carrying out overhauls, services and diagnosis on all hydraulic and pneumatic system in the region.

Providing guidance to trainees and apprentices attached to the workshop

Enforcing and instituting correct workshop safety and housekeeping procedures

Compiling documentation of vehicle/ units repaired and services carried out

Tyre management (tyre rolling audits, tyre inspection and paperwork)
